Yesterday. I figure it's just a weird random thing because I've literally never had this "issue" in the 10 years I've been visiting Tree House.

It really doesn't bother me but I thought it was noteworthy since it's so rare, at least for me. Maybe just had some cans that didn't get stamped. The beer is good that's all that matters.

It might be 2 different batches of Julius but that would mean they’re like 1 difference lol.

super dumb question - how fastidious is Tree House about checking IDs of dudes in their 40s at pick up?

On vacay about a 45 min away this weekend, was originally planning on swinging by and grabbing a case or two on the way home but just realized my license expired yesterday...don't want to make detour if I'm just going to get turned away...

Pretty sure they just look at your name to confirm it matches the order name. Possibly date of birth if you look like a youngn'

that'd be good enough for me...like I said, I'm a dude in my mid-40s so it shouldnt really be a debate. I also have the temp paper license until the real one gets mailed out but it clearly says "not for ID purposes" which is annoying.

Just wanted to make sure it wasn't SOP for every single pick up, I know MA can be weird about beer things...

You'll be fine but if you want to safeguard you can designate someone else to pick up the order for you if you're traveling with someone of age who is more fastidious about maintaining their identification documents.

It’s an interesting question. As a dude in my 40’s some days they are very strict. Some days they don’t even ask. I’d normally want to just keep an ID on me. I’m sure they would be ok with an expired given the age. But I’m sure it all depends on the person. I’d still go.

just rolled in to say I recently got a pack of the Nelson Many Ways Freestyle hops and it's for my palate hands down maybe the best Nelson hopped beer i've ever had. I hope they keep that one in rotation. that is all

I was there in Charlton on Monday and my ID wasn't checked (I'm a couple years out of my 40s). It's an incredibly mellow time on a Monday at 3 (no idea whether that matters or not in terms of your question though).

Kind of funny how this inefficiency ends up with Woodstock having the best IPA brewery location in the country.

I have been to Tree House more times than I can count and they have never once checked my ID. Except during contactless covid pick up days when they needed your ID to verify your order. but I am an old dude so maybe thats why haha.

I'd bet a dollar they only look at DOB, and not for whether the id is valid/expired.

Guess I should clarify. I never get pours on-site, just do can pick up. I walk in and I get in the can line. When I get to the front I give them my name and order number. They say "Thank You". I put my cash tip in the jar and I take two giant steps to the right and wait for them to call my name. When called, I grab my cans, thank them and carry the cans back to my car. ID never leaves my wallet.....Every Time..

At Tewksbury now and they are ID’nd everyone for to go. Guy just gave lip to the dude. Or at least the golf assholes who just showed up for cans hammered got ID’d. They said it’s state law they have to ID. “Costa, I’ll allow you to drink every beer in here on the way home, just be quiet” Fuck off. It’s embarrassing watching people leave a brewery opening cans in a car.

Anyone been to the Pru Center for either curbside or inside pickup?
Curious if it's as efficient as their other locations.
Still amazed they were able to set up selling their beer in downtown Boston.

I am a long time motorcycle rider and it always pained me to see guys getting trashed at a bar and then getting on their (usually crap) bikes and riding home (poorly). I'm sure some of them never made it...
