Mid-Atlantic Breweries in Planning (2024)

Sounds like a lot of brewery growth (quality breweies too) in the FingerLakes region, particularly on the northern shores. Glad to hear this, we love to visit the FingerLakes.

 

Speaking of the Finger Lakes beer scene…. Somehow this one snuck in below the radar, and thanks to some awesome neighbors we plan to visit this weekend.

Solitude Brewing Company, Lakeville, NY, at the northeast corner of Conesus Lake. Based on their facebook page, it looks promising and is definitely a vast improvement over the crappy gas station and inconvenience store that previously occupied the site. Rooftop dining and a beer garden are promising signs.

This will make a nice tight grouping with OBS Ciderworks next door, No BS around the corner and Rising Storm a few minutes away. Add Mortalis for good measure about six miles north, then Strange Design and Dublin Corners six miles west. Their website is “under construction.”

Ok, so Cal Hasler confirmed they are not open yet. No date for the grand opening was shared with me, so we will just have to keep a watchful eye and report back later.

Solitude is open now. Interesting line-up, no Octoberfest beers listed on-line today.

The name of the place is "Solitude" but the chairs out front all seat two people?

 

HA HA! Nice observation. I bet a buisiness plan based on true solitude would be challenging. At least the chairs in/outside aren’t those awful steel ones. We are planning to visit next weekend.

Ha! I don’t think so. That would be a huge disappointment. The facebook pictures look nice.

Being a cantankerous misanthrope, I do prefer places that can’t possibly be making payroll, much less profit, but the very idea of staring at a screen while drinking a beer… oh, wait a second…

The Mrs and I visited Solitude this past Saturday. Beautiful place, good service. Had the Winter Warmer, the Stout and the Kolsch between us. Thought the Winter Warmer and Stout were excellent, and the Kolsch very good. Did not try the food, but the menu and food that we saw looked good. Overall good beers and a good vibe. Hopefully they are able to keep it up. We will be back for sure.
