Aww thanks, man. I don’t have any knowledge to drop here, just some other pieces of the puzzle. I’ve heard a lot of people in the industry refer to “onion/garlic” for hops picked late in the pick window. I don’t know if you are experiencing the same thing, or if there’s a different element that comes off as onion for you. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced what you’re describing (my palate is average at best, but I make up for it with enthusiasm).

The only onion beer memory I have is the Summit hops in Oskar Blues Gubna.

I'm sorry to hear that about Porter, but I'm glad you're back with us in the PNW.

FYI. Imperial just announced that they will be tapping kegs of fh Bodhi and fh Dalton (both from Georgetown brewing of course). Tap date is Friday, 10/11.

I hope you have a fun time. I was thinking of attending the Hood River event tomorrow, but decided against it. I feel like there's plenty of great fh beer right here in town, without making the drive out to HR. Plus I don't want to have to drive home after the event.

I'm planning on staying there that night. I've enjoyed it much the past, hopefully I will again this time.

Having a Single Hill FH Skyfinder with a hopefully soon-arriving pulled pork sandwich at Republic Pi:

Same. And I was planning on using Columbia Area Transit to get there and back.

Ultimately, I decided against it for the same reason you did.

This Reuben's Fresh Hop Double Crush is really murky, but tastes good.

It is a hazy, after all. But that’s one reason I’ve wondered if PNW/WC breweries are doing NEIPAs right—when I look at WBAYDN photos of hazies from, say, New England, most of them look different from the ones I’ve had here. They are totally opaque and look like orange juice—they also often appear brighter and lighter in color. The ones I’ve had here usually still seem to have a very slight transparency, and thus “murky” is an accurate description. I dunno. I was in New England for a week this summer and managed to avoid all such beers, so I guess I had my chance.

I was in Brooklyn a couple years ago. I remember at Grimm I asked them to show me an NEIPA that proves the PNW doesn't know how it's done. They succeeded. I asked them also to show me a WC IPA that proves the NE knows how it's done. They failed.

I thought about asking you which beer that was, but then decided to just check your reviews—and your highest rated NEIPA is Juice Jr. from Great Notion. So perhaps you are being a little bit unfair to PNW brewers. :beers:

    Cross post sorta.

This is mighty tasty. Even for a hazy.

ose was very nice. Getting a lot of peach gummy “candy” on this one. Gotta be that FH 1019. Feels good to learn.

So I’m at Single Hill enjoying a FH Six Sister's. It’s a great FH beer. BA has it listed as an IPA with ABV of 6.1. At the brewery they have it listed as a Pale Ale with an ABV of 5.4. The cans in the cooler agree with the BA listing. Spoke with a bartender who confirmed they’ve classified this year’s version as a Pale Ale. The label on the can is incorrect, since it was printed before the beer was finished.

    Filters bruh, filters.

Plus Hazy means you can still see through it. Like looking over the Sound in the summer at the Olympics. You can see them, but not clearly. Murky? The next level is muddy.

I believe I mentioned that it would be more of a pale ale. Regardless of the labeling/style, think it is my favorite for the year. You try Energy Cone?

I thought it was an awesome FH pale ale. I also had the FH Lateral A, which was really good. Wish I could have tried more, but I’m done for the night after hitting up Schab’s Varietal pop up first.
