I am terrified of heights so I totally get it. Somehow I manage to brave heights when it comes to photos. I once almost fell off a cliff and into the ocean while trying to take a photo of a hummingbird on a tree branch. The photo was quite amazing so the scare was almost worth it.

Yes, that's Pennsylvania, just outside Philly.

Good afternoon, all! Whiskey Road, Cedar Falls, IA, for lunch and a couple of Iowa's 2024 GABF medal winners: SingleSpeed Lavender Haze (top) and PIVO Decorah Nordic Gruit. Cheers!

Beautiful suburbs around Philly, and a seemingly lovely fall day. I hear you about heights. I won’t get any close to cliffs or even a high balcony.

Hell fortunately I’m not really tall, have I been a 6’5” giant I’d be scared to look at my feet.

Amstel Bock. Inspired by @Hephaistos. First time since ages that I have this.
Oldest traditional bock here in NL. Dates Back to the days (1970's and before I guess) when beer was here just Lager/Pils, Oud Bruin and bock during fall.
Good taste indeed. Somewhat watery yes. But for a good price, so you can have two
    Cheers all

    1) Spaten Oktoberfest Marzen (5.9%):
A German Marzen with flavors of earthy brown bread, crust, floral and some skunky notes
    versus
    2) Paulaner Oktoberfest Marzen (5.8%): A German Marzen with flavors of earthy brown bread, toast, rustic and dry. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

German Oktoberfest Marzen Battle. First is Spaten. Smooth earthy flavors, mildly sweet. Slightly light struck which is inevitable given the poor green bottling.
Next is Paulaner. Standard for an Oktoberfest Marzen. Bready, toasted, clean and drinkable. Hard to beat. Winner: Paulaner

I cared, and it’s a quiet melody perfectly fitting to listen to before hitting the sack here. Another good one, that earned you an extra like on YT.

Thanks Mike!! I don't do any live gigs anymore, just not worth the hassle plus it's hard to find other musicians with the same taste. My bass player is just tied up with drama these days and is unavailable even for recording. He keeps telling me next month and has been doing so for over a year now. Luckily I can do my own bass parts, but I do like the collaboration when possible. I won't lie though, I do miss playing live gigs.

The lack of German options this year is surprising. How do they do it so much better?
