Freestyle, Eggers and Garston were all excellent, in my opinion.
The Clayton was a bit of a miss for me...was more melony/earthy and didn't have that white wine taste that I usually associate with Nelson.

Bright with Simcoe is the only one that comes to mind. Not sure it's been brewed in over 3 years (Bright w/Simcoe & Amirillo doesn't count)

I think there was less than 100 bottles in total, and maybe some on draft at the event last weekend. Was tough to get

I got two. I think they had more than that. They had some more yesterday or today go for walk ups only.

the initial to go sale was supposedly 12 bottles per location, walk up in the field sessions had 20 bottles for each session. it might not be exactly 100 bottles, but its not that much more either

Lots of good lookin’ releases out now. A few things I noted.

I wonder the galaxy in this years autumn is tasting.

Fire Lilly coming in at a modest 7.4% abv for a “DIPA”, which is lower than green which isn’t branded as such. The heavy use of Columbus is enticing for me, Although I’ve tended to lean away from any treehouse beers touting a new or novel yeast blend. Not because I think I won’t like them, just because I cant buy every last beer they have and if I’m forced to narrow down my picks I lean more classic.

Timberline mosaic and simcoe IPA looks up my alley. The beer looks hazy but not milky/murky. Strangely, on the check-in app it is listed as a “historical beer”.

October in the field looking like a beer you’d love to drink during… October… in the field. Clean classic west coast-ish.

lastly, the fresh hop citra pale. I’m intrigued by all the fresh/wet hop trails and lagers, but cool to see it in pale ale format. I think it will be cool for them to make a classic treehouse hazy beer and do some fresh hops in the dry hop. Like a eureka or a sap with fresh hops.

Not sure if we'll see Galaxy tasting like 2015 - 2021 for a while. It's been way off for the last several years. Hopefully it's cyclical and will return to glory

Did you ever find out if they're closing for the winter this year? I'm also planning a potential stop in early December. But if they're closed, that changes my travel plans a bit.

They stayed open during winter ‘23/‘24. I know because I reached out to them last fall to ask. I still haven’t visited the location, but I know they didn’t close last winter.

Stopping by tomorrow afternoon. Any cold brew recommendations? Trying their coffee for the first time.

Depends which location for what cold brew is available to go. The list as of today is kind of small unfortunately. You missed 5th anniversary in most if not all locations by a day or two.

However their canned cold brew is next level amazing. I’ve been drinking cold brew since my friends shop starting using that method in the 90’s. Their immersion process and end product is some of the best I have had, coast to coast. I imagine it will do that same for you. Do yourself a favor and shake them well before opening and into a nice glass tumbler to get that full head on top of the coffee as well. They are all purged with a little Nitro.

The easy answer is Walden is a must Autumn blend.

Then I’d make sure to get some Estrellita and Monochrome.

Aurora is kind of cool as it’s the smaller sibling to Paragon espresso blend.

Marigold is good but you will taste more tea flavor in it.

We drink treehouse cold brew every day and have tried all of them multiple times. Fridge is always stocked. Los Flores was one of the single origins recently I didn’t care for.

If you can get Pumpkin Latte, grab that too. It’s excellent and fuck the haters ha

What's the most bubblegummy beer they sell these days? I feel like I'm not the only one who notices that flavor that is so unique to them is not as prominent as it once was. Now that they're in Boston I've had a couple four packs and haven't gotten that taste, practically at all.

Had one just now. And yeah, it was definitely there. I'm having a green now, and it is not there. So I can't even really blame this as much on a false memory. Why is that flavor not as prominent anymore? That's what made their beer so distinct.

    Lights Out was great though

Anybody had both Sequoia and Sherman and can recommend one over the other? Don’t think I need both.

Obviously very similar, looking for closest to a classic west coast IPA… albeit with Nelson hops included.

Give you green a few days to weeks if you can. I have for some cans and have notice them evolve a bit and then that note comes through. I have a can I’ve been sitting on for a bit and maybe I’ll try it in a bit.
