I would grab Sherman. I had one of my cans earlier. It’s a very interesting beer and really hit that piney, red ipa flavor profile you would be looking for. Nothing Nelson about it and very much similar to the celebration type of beer.

So I’m enjoying this Green, exactly one month old. As I said before it has mellowed out from that slight bit of green ripping Galaxy flavor. And it’s similar to another post I made a little while ago where that sorbet/bubble gum flavor now starts to come through well. It’s a whole shift I feel and I’ve been trying this whole taste over time theory, over the last year now. I feel the same shift happens even more pronounced with juice machine that sits for a bit. Some of my 2+ month cans were outstanding.

I was super hesitant on buying some and finally broke down to grab it. Really, really enjoying it. I just didn’t want it to taste as people had said sequoia did previously. Where the Nelson seemed to come through and it was sweeter. Also, really enjoyed Raven for the Columbus and perfect hint of dark malt flavor

Made an unexpected trip to Deerfield today. I've said it before, I'll say it again, they really have 10/10 pizza. Probably my absolute favorite crust.

Snagged a Juice Project Citra + El Dorado which was solid, but followed it up with Double Shot Autumn Pumpkin Spice. If you at all like beers with pumpkin-y spices, go for it. Absolutely delicious.

Took some of the advice from this thread and picked up some of the lattes, had the maple oat milk one on the way home, and holy shit, that's a delicious latte. Those are gonna be drank quickly.

Anyways. Back home now, sipping on a Lights Out. Killer beer, possibly my favorite of their pale ales.

How was foliage? Have they hit peak yet? We thought about heading out there this next Saturday but maybe not if it’s gonna be a brown bust. Hoping it was just shy of it.

Double Shot pumpkin spice was absolutely excellent. Enjoyed it more than my last can of OG double shot.

I think foliage is just about peak. If you hit the higher elevations on rt. 2 the leaves are falling pretty quickly, but the hairpin in North Adams was an incredible view. Pioneer Valley is probably peak next weekend if you wanted to hit Deerfield and then go down 91.

While I would still shoot them an email to get the definitive word, I overheard one of the bartenders in Woodstock say they'd be open this winter.

Over the Summer I think they figured out they're going to heat it so it'll be open all winter, weather permitting, etc. Which is great because that location is 10 minutes away from my house and it scratches the itch of getting cans and it's great pitstop during the Holidays when I'm out Christmas Shopping, lol!

I like Sequoia (first time drinking it). It's no Nugget Nectar but I enjoy it.

Definitely not as bitter as one might expect from a beer with Columbus, Chinook and Simcoe (and...Nelson?) but pretty well-balanced. Didn't get to try Sherman unfortunately.

I swear there has to be a surplus of Nelson hops considering how much we've been getting from Tree House, as well as other popular breweries like Fidens. I can't stand the hop, personally but it’s definitely popular. Why it's in this beer I honestly don't know other than they have too much and gotta use it somehow. Thankfully I can't detect it.

Thanks, we’re both off Friday so gonna make the drive anyway. Hoping still will see some good color on the way out there and maybe even hit Charlton on the way back

Is the food at the trading post any good? Had no idea they were even a restaurant till I went by around 6 this past weekend and noticed the parking lot was packed and looked them up.

Gotta say, I tried a small sample of Fire Lily and something else I wanted to try when I was grabbing a pour. I remember enjoying FL and thinking “hm, that had a Nelson flavor I wasn’t expecting”

So before I left I grabbed a four pack of Fire Lily. Got home and opened it. I don’t know what I sampled at TH but it wasn’t that. I have no clue what they are going for with this mess of a DIPA, but that thing is bitter and has a chemical taste. Horrible beer. But, maybe I have off cans or I guess there may be a market for that flavor? It’s a bit darker and more clear, but also too malty. Poured out my last two cans since they were just taking up space. Damnit, small problem in life though.

I'm not a fan of it being priced as a DIPA despite being lower in ABV than Green. I also am not a fan of the beer itself, though I wouldn't say the cans were "off". Just, not very good.

Timberline was also very disappointing. I will devour anything with Simcoe but it’s such a "meh" beer.

Loving Single Shot Pumpkin though. It's everything I wish Double Shot was, lactose aside.

No online pizza ordering today in Tewksbury. Hope this isn't a sign of things to come and is just a blip. People lined up at the window and kiosks doesn't make sense when it was easy to do on a phone as an option. Don't get it...

I wonder if this is an issue with people ordering before open and trying to stack orders. I know some employees had mentioned this to me as an issue a while back.

Made the trip out to Deerfield again today. The foliage in certain areas on the way out and in Deerfield was excellent and certainly peak. Did hit Yankee Candle factory after. Always weirdly nostalgic. Made the drive to Charlton after and once again saw crazy amazing color along the way. It was a little past in Charlton but legitimately perfect weather to be outside. Enjoyed an Evil Julius. Which oddly impressed me way more this year over last. Hope you all had a great Friday! [IMG]
