I think I might do that. I have heard this from a few people..

Possibly stupid question, but if you are in Group A does that mean you HAVE to get your Dark Lord during the designated time? Or can you go during Group B or something?

I believe you are supposed to only be able to get it during the designated time, but I'm sure if you came up with some lame excuse they'd still let you go through the line later in the day.

I was able to get my hands on one ticket, but I have a buddy still looking for a ticket if anyone knows of someone with an extra A or B ticket please let me know so I can see if I can work something out with them.

Realistically, there will be a couple thousand people in line trying to get in at the open. It stands to reason that there will be a great many group A people at the back of the line, who will not get their beer by 12:00. I think the ticket is the key. They might try to queue up the lines by groups, inside... I mean, we don't even know if they're leading people into the building via the same route this year... there's already a new door on the front left side of the building, which will either be the "to go" section or a new pub entry.

But I would not worry about anything if you have your ticket. The only thing you might shaft out on is the possibility of golden tickets.

Guys like you are the reason that the guy earlier in the thread waited until after 7pm to go into the pub. Waiting for over 4-5 hours to get in there, because you stayed in there the whole day. How about you get a pour or two, and then leave so some of the other couple thousand people there can try some?
It is funny to me that people were bitching up a storm about the people getting tickets and reselling them, but it seems perfectly fine to hog the pub up the whole day. That is the only day of the year for people to try those. It is not like you can trade for those anytime you want.

You're right. You obviously know exactly how long I was in the pub last year, since you know me personally. Clearly just because I posted that I got Oak Aged and Vanilla "to my heart's content" I must mean that I stayed in the pub all day and stole everybody's else's pours.

Or, perhaps, I got into the pub, got one pour of each, then bought another pour to share with people who were in my group (of about 30-40) outside of the facilities, and promptly left the pub. How selfish of me!!!

Oh but wait, you know me and how much Dark Lord I want, so clearly you're right. Thanks for correcting my memory and telling me how I actually spent my DLD, stealing everybody's pours all day.

Think about the context of what you write next time.

Makes NO SENSE to just jump in and rag on someone out of the blue.
Mark said "Pours of Oak Aged and Vanilla to my heart's content."
He didn't say "I went into the brewpub at open, and waited in the brewpub until Group C was getting bottles."
You're assuming that's what he meant, and that's totally bogus.

It's also bogus to crap all over someone and then accuse THEM of being "butt hurt."

For anyone considering doing the "get my beer later, go to the pub first" route...

They mentioned that they're taking what worked from XV and using it on DLD2012.
So far, this has meant a locals ticket sale, like XV.
XV also had massive circus tents with tables and chairs.
XV had Baller and all guest beers pouring inside the tents.
FFF has already said that they'll have Dark Lord pouring outside of the pub.
XV had nothing pouring inside the pub that wasn't either regular rotation beer or available in the tents.
The pub food was significantly reduced in quality because of time constraints, on XV.
The guest food was fantastic at XV.

There is every reason to think that there may be no reason at all to opt for the pub first at this event. You might make a run for the pub only to find that any rare variants are going to be served outdoors, on a schedule, or that there's nothing available in the pub that isn't available outside. So it's your call if you want to jump out of the beer buying line to get into the pub line... but you might just be adding the same hours onto your waiting.

It's all conjecture. But it bears repeating... they've specifically said that they're taking what worked for them from XV and using it for DLD... so none of us know exactly what's going to happen, or how it's going to go down.

Fair point. It's kind of a "wait and see" until/unless they release more details.

If I had group C tickets, I'd still get there very early, enjoy the line pours, and then yeah, I'd go right to the brewpub or the tents and chill with folks. Group B, I don't know. Group A... buy your damn beer. Help them keep things on schedule. That's my thinking. Plus, if we're honest, anyone getting there early is going to have insane beer for hours before they get in... sometimes it's hard for a beer to matter after that many whales in line.

It is all about context here buddy. He should have wrote what he did differently if that is not what he meant.

People rag on people on this site out of the blue all the time. That is how open forums work.

I like your use of the word "bogus." It is one of my favorite words, and it is vastly underused.

His response to my first post sure sounded butt hurt to me. Read that one, and then reread his other replies and you can tell a difference.

Not to beat a dead horse, but yea Gritch, you kind of jumped on him for no reason. To my 'hearts content' could be one 4 oz pour.
