Well said, and I agree. When LC was first opened, it FELT special. They got quite a few beers that public never saw, no packages, and no annual membership fee. It legit felt like Cory was doing something for the people who had been there for him alot from the beginning. Covid changed everything with the pricing model, but over time the beer world changed and it seems people got tired of sours and SP produced such an ungodly amount that they essentially became worthless, but it seems to be greater than 50% of their production. So now in order to move those beers, the packages cannot go away as they would never sell them out. The BBT package having zero sours shocked me, and I hope its the beginning of change, but I'm fairly skeptical.

How's it tasting? I'm sitting on one bottle and I feel this will age well.

I always feel like BA stouts are better fresh. Especially SP. That said, this is drinking great. Thick, and tons of rye barrel still. SP BA imperial stouts usually fall apart after a year and a half or more but this one seems built to last. Cheers!!

    Bump.

Mod should Sticky it to the top of this thread.

I'm an older dude that released his FOMO a LONG time ago. Living a mile from SP and never really going has been easy.

But, I'll gladly overpay for a beer if I see the value in it. Oscar Wilde said it. I'm no cynic.

Once I realized that my "responsibility" to SP was to help them make up what they were missing in the resale market, I was out.

Way, way, way out. Can't see me.

Now, once a year when my Chicago buddy visits, we split a bottle of Derivation on site.

Truly as awesome as it gets.

So, the next Silent Barrel drops on ‘vanilla day’… do we think this Silent Barrel will have vanilla in it?

For big beers releasing in less than a week there's been surprisingly little talk about the details

I'm really crossing my fingers that Tuesday and Wednesday won't be a madhouse. I've sort of already resigned to skipping the weekend.

For me, the FoMo just doesn't outweigh dealing with yhe types of crowds that frequent the big weekends.

Happy it sold out, but methinks they are still going to have it onsite for months and months.

Edit: To be clear, I am hoping for this outcome.
