Last night I got a big Kahana steak at jersey Mike's because they ran out of pastrami for the day. JM is the best subs.

Hop Butcher/Half Acre Roost Extra Pale Ale (Centennial). A great old school pale ale made by two breweries that definitely know how to brew them. Classic Centennial hops bring orange/grapefruit flesh and peel, floral, and pine, all balanced out by some bread, toast, and light caramel from the malt. Balanced and refreshing.

 

Rather impressive for 'amateur art'. I remember you once mentioned your father is a hunter too. His respect for animals shows in his art.
(I'm a learning hunter myself).

Arvon Redwood Road West Coast IPA (Chinook, Simcoe, Citra). Big ruby red grapefruit flesh and peel, some passionfruit, lemongrass, bright floral, navel orange flesh and peel, some yellow peach, mango skin, earthy, Simcoe cat piss, pine resin. Legit modern WCIPA. Really good.

Happy Tuesday/Election Day I guess ba. At least I got done with work nice and early. Did my “civic duty” aka pick who I hate the least- I’m not thrilled with any of the candidates both locally and nationally.
Anyway, first go with this one. The Chosen One, dipa, tilted barn brewing. Nice stuff with a soft plush feel and decently hop forward. Fruit notes hit on the subtle side with little depth. I mostly get simple citrus. Some definite off flavor on the finish. Decent enough but a bit over-rated for a 97 ba score.

 

I’m starting a bit early today but this is the only beer I plan to drink (we’ll see how that goes). Celebrating a few things, and pulling my oldest beer seemed appropriate:

• Our daughter turned 18 yesterday—just in time to cast a ballot in her first general election.
• We sold our first home today—closing was just completed. We’ve been renting the property since we moved to our current home in November 2012 (about when this beer was bottled), and the proceeds will hopefully be enough to put our daughter through college. She has started submitting applications over the last few days.
  
• The election is today! I have very strong feelings about who I want to win, but at least the endless campaign can now be over and we will see what comes next.

I don't want to be sober when the election results start pouring in, so this ought to get the party started.

The State is letting out early today to vote, so it's the wife's turn to cook dinner. It's Taco night tonight from the local taco truck.
Every time the wife "cooks", I need to leave a tip.

 

Lagunitas Born Yesterday Fresh Hop IPA. Getting more tropical with each bottle I have. Big passionfruit and ripe pineapple, mango, tangerine, ruby red grapefruit flesh and peel, diesel, floral, earthy pine resin. I wasn't sure about this batch before, but it's grown on me. Great stuff.

Interested to see how the night plays out for the election. I'm not a fan of politics due to the divisiveness, but I understand the importance of our elected leaders. Just hope those on here that reside in the U.S. took advantage of their freedom to vote!
