Swinging a WW Freak of Nature DIPA. The wife and I just watched 48 Hours w/ Nick & Eddie, amazing it was filmed in 1983.

By the looks of my beer fridge, I'm more of a beer collector than a beer drinker. 60+ containers of beer in there, 20+ different labels. One less Lagunitas Born Yesterday. Cheers!

 

That is a good beer. When I moved to LA in 93 I was working construction. I had no money. Dinner was often a 50 cent baguette, a dollars worth of sliced roast beef from the deli and this beer. Brings back a lot of memories. Funny how beer can do that. Cheers sir!

New Trail - Double Broken Heels

Started out with a Tree House Trail Wet Hopped - Billy Goat Farms - The rare Tree House miss for me. This is a pilsner but it tastes like a weak IPL. Soft mouth feel, really fruity.



Followed up by something completely different, Stone's Double Bastard. Delicious as always. I like this with a bit of age on it.

Brewing Projekt Choose Wisely Candy Bar Stout, 6% ABV. Pours black with a one-finger tan head that left no lacing. Aroma is vanilla, brown sugar, and strong chocolate. Taste is mostly chocolate, plus vanilla, and brown sugar towards the close, slightly bitter, moderately sweet. Not quite a pastry stout. Thick and smooth mouthfeel, overall outstanding.

Mussels and shrimp. I am jealous! I was planning on getting some clams or oysters today but it did not work out.

It's been a big John K. Samson week this week over here. It's doing lots of heavy lifting.

 

I thought I would venture out of my IPA comfort zone with another beer style. Christmas. An ale (red?) brewed by Abita.
