    Stories like these scare the poop out of me as I am shipping my first trade shortly. I wrapped the bottles like I wanted them to survive a plane drop and I plan on tossing some dry beans in the box to rattle around if they shake the box...should I be good?

    Just be honest-- beer is food, so you are shipping food.
    Tell them you are shipping "nutritional supplements."

    Also, I've had the same thing happen before.. And the box ended up getting delivered just like normal in the right amount of time.
    Here is the rub;
    If the FedEx store doesn't scan it into the system properly, then every subsequent scan links to a 'dead' tracking number and the system doesn't update any info. So it will be moved through the fedx system just like normal and no employee that scans or handles it will realize there is any kind of issue.

    UPS's system works differently and any scan anywhere will update the tracking info.
    I don't know why the FedEx one is like this.

    Yea, I was actually recieving a box from california and fedex said it was like sitting in wisconsin for about 4 days, then it showed up at my door. Sometimes it just misses a scan, at the origin facility, or somwhere along the line, either way, it will most likely reach its destination within the estimated time.

    I've had things like that happen twice lately. Latest, the tracking number got linked to 2 packages, one said it was delivered, not returned but delivered back to the Fedex office and signed for 2 hours after I sent it.

    The other said it was waiting in CT (all of my Fedex shipments go to CT first, I think they handle all packages going into/ out of Southern NE) for a long time, then all of a sudden said delivered at the destination I sent it to

    The month before I had a package arrive in Chicago BEFORE their system had it arriving in CT, on an outbound from CT
