    THREAD BUMP!
Anything good on Black Friday this year? I still miss the Hugh Oneill days, one of the few places you could get crazy stouts, and a place to sit! York River still the best option? Anyone have other info on Black Friday events, let us all know!

I wish they'd say quantities and prices of the bottles for sale. Because there are quite a few there that I'd love a crack at.

I'd love to know on the cantillon myself; found a bottle of Sang Bleu that had to be purchased with tilquin rhubarb and I didn't hesitate, nor ask about the price at another store a few months back. the total put the Sang Bleu at around $60, which is more what i'd be comfortable spending for a bottle at a restaurant, but it had also been a few years since I bought Cantillon at retail, so i didnt quibble about the $10-$25 over what I remember paying previously for Fou, St Lam etc.

I just had a 750 bottle of Sang Bleu at a bar near my house for $40. I wouldn’t pay more than that for a bottle.

I've always wanted to go up for that. But there's no feasible way for me to get there via train.

I have Ubered as far up as Exeter before, split three ways the $60 was very manageable.

Yeah that’s the one issue with it, is location for most. We normally just Uber from home in Portsmouth which isn’t too bad. And have also hit Stoneface Black Friday on the way back as well ha.

I haven't seen any specific events in Boston yet. Funnily enough, I was almost fooled by a bar called "Durty Nellie's" in IL that is doing an event. It is sadly not our "Durty Nelly's" near Haymarket. Would be a fun spot for some Bourbon County pours though.

To help crowd source some incessant Google searching, it's worth checking the socials for Great American Beer Hall, Mystic Station, The Merchant, Elm Street Taproom/Five Horse Tavern, and Magouns.

I imagine Mystic Station at best might have one on tap, but certainly not an event with Miracle at Mystic starting today.

City Tap in Fort Point typically always gets one or two gets of BCBS or a variant.

Oh, good call, I forgot about that. My wife and I went to Miracle at Mystic last year and it was really cool. Great reminder for us to make another visit this year.

I was going to say this actually as I live close to Pease. It’s an easy Uber from there.

Just checked, I can get an Uber there for $60. Not too bad at all, especially if riding with others.

Honestly, given the fact that York River Landing is the only bar I’ve been to that does a day like this with small cup samples sizes for each and as many as you want I’d say it’s the one trip worth making.

The fact they have refined this day down to giving you slips to fill out and order rounds of samples(including opening the Bourbon county and other bottles) it’s really like no other. We have enjoyed it for so many years and it’s always repeat people there. @AlcahueteJ

    Ugh, damn...

Obviously quite different but at the moment my plans are to potentially hit up Idle Hands for 34 on cask with vanilla beans. Plus I can walk home...what you're proposing is intriguing though.

How crazy busy is York River Landing on that day? Not feeling like drinking Stouts at open time, but also don't want to wait 1 hr+ for a spot for 2

It is…. Here is the 2023 list
It’s hit or miss and comes in waves. Rare you would have to actually wait for a table. We’ve pretty much gotten a seat at the bar each year noon or midday even if we stood for a few til folks leave. Again, geographically speaking there are a lot less people around.
