    Happy Monday all.

Drinking Chimay Blonde Dorée (Golden Blonde), at 4,8% this is the lighter of the Chimay variants. Nice for day drinking:

    Good morning,
fresh back from a great away game in the Basque Country where my Favorite Team won the game like this:

Before going to the arena, I had the chance to walk from the bus station in Vitoria Gasteiz to the first craft beer place open at 5pm, the Naski Bar:

Small and cozy pub with three taps attached: A Session IPA by Basqueland Brewing (Hernani, Gipuzkoa), a West Coast IPA by Saltus and a Triple Dry Hopping IPA by Cervesa Espiga (Bercelona).
Then reading the list of canned or bottled beers available, I "chose" the route to take before going to the sports hall.
I started with this beer brewed by the Basque brewery (from Navarra) Saltus for the place itself:

Saltus Brewing Koop. (Berriozar, SPA) - NASKI - West Coast India Pale Ale (5.8%).

It's a West Coast IPA with American Centennial and El Dorado hops (a Pint 6.40€).
The first thing I notice is the "beauty" of this beer: clear, almost not cloudy at all, white foam of the right amount and consistency.
Light aromas of resin and citrus.
In the mouth, a beer that is very drinkable and that flows on a light body and characterized by a lively carbonation (perfect, not excessive).
Main taste of citrus (bitter orange, grapefruit), with slightly more tropical nuances (mango/passion fruit), before a quick dry finish in which for a moment a resinous tip emerges, which however quickly vanishes leaving on the tongue and palate a delicate taste of citrus with slightly herbaceous nuances.
As for the use of hops: the bitterness is neither pungent nor marked, but has the function of gently "drying" the fruitiness of the beer, leaving it in the aftertaste without further bitter references.
So certainly the exaltation of the aroma was preferred, leaving the bitterness more dormant.
Nevertheless, a very pleasant product, which gave me a feeling of freshness and not flattering like many other offers of beers of this style revisited in (often revisable) "modern" optics.

Good day BAs! Thanks @Shanex for opening the bar today. And @Jack_14 - great review as usual - where are you located for this post?

    Today's New Breakfast Beer:

Final impression and summation: 4 (After deducting 0.25 points from the final score; the last several cans of different beers I’ve had from the Frog have had partially legible dating – seems to be an on-going problem that needs correcting.) This is basic B.O.R.I.S. with some citrus/stone fruit added – obviously too sophisticated for my plebian tastes – the only mixed drinks I drink are rye/scotch whiskey/whisky mixed with soda/water. Since this was a recent RBC handout, I must assume it’s relatively fresh. Would I drink it again – yes, probably.

    Rating 4.2, rDev -2.6%

The city is called Vitoria-Gasteiz. Reachable by two buses from Bilbao airport in about 1 hour and a half, if you have the right connections.

Happy Monday! A nice sunny day to walk the dogs. The puppies are beginning to understand the concept of a leash.
I found this at my local beer store. It was the last 6pack, so I brought it home with me.

    Hey Advocates!

Nobody showed up at the job site today, and I cut out after only 5hrs. That's enough caulking for this guy.

This leaves plenty of time for liquid refreshment!

Used to drink this indefinitely, two or three years ago here. Miss it a bit. Maximus was good too, Little Sumpin was a special brew. Nice revamp on the can/label too.

I do love me some fresh Maximus as well.

Almost went with variety pack that had both, but those were 2 months older.

Yup, I opened the sucker to check the cans haha.

    Cheers!
