Since when is Simi Valley part of Stone's home market?

Southern California and Northern California are specific markets. Whatever your definition of home market is, they skipped San Diego as well with the exception of a limited supply at their retail locations.

The 805 area code speads from Ventura County all the way to the central coast. A massive amount of real estate, yet Firestone considers that their "home market". Perhaps you have another definition? Los Angeles to Escondido isn't a world away.

Then drive to the brewery or company store and pick some up, problem solved.

Or wait until the next time it's released in Southern California, which will likely be within a month or two. Or get huffy at Stone and drink one of the hundreds of other delicious beers that are available to you as a resident of Southern California.

Either way, you're grasping at straws because you're not getting the beer you want, even though it's clearly been explained that Stone has a specific goal with the Enjoy By program, and focusing on their "home market" with every single batch is not that goal.

We are serviced by Stone Distributing, we are as far north as they go.

Yeah, if I had a sought after beer, I'd skip the easiest place to distribute it too also.

LMAO, on this website? Have no fear.

Yes, 'Drink By' is overhyped beyond what is basically a good IPA should be. But then, it's about time Stone released something makes people pant and drool, especially considering how quickly the Quengenti Millitre series began circling the drain.

Well, seems like they sacrifice distribution to us every other release and you make it that much more special when it comes around again.

Pasadena is goIng to be a mad house come Friday

I think 50% of the releases being available in SoCal is more than fair, so no I'm not complaining. I mean, come on, it's released every couple months, we will have the opportunity to get it every once in a while. There are plenty of good IPA's out there to hold me over until the next Enjoy By comes along - and even then it won't really matter since I'll only be able to get 2-3 bottles if I'm lucky.

I got a bottle of their last release at bine and vine...so other stores, albeit limited, did receive it

A certain beer store Santee probably had it for $20 a bottle.

The last batch (12/21/12) had full distribution in Southern California. The batch before that did not, and neither will this new batch.

Just to be fair, I don't think the store mentioned by LegalBrew87 got the beer via a distribution route. I suspect that the proprietor of that store (at least the beer half of it) either picked it up a small amount at the brewery itself or at the South Park store, and had permission to resell it.

What? The last batch was distributed in Southern California, why would Bine & Vine have _not_ acquired it through distribution?

I thought that LegalBrew87 was talking about 2 batches ago. Never mind...

the distro is all about voting. your time would be better spent doing that rather than complaining. so cal isn't getting it because not enough people voted, a very easy to understand concept.

if you plan on hitting up stone for the release make sure you get there when it opens because it will all be gone extremely fast!!

also op... of course its difficult to get when its released, its made in very small quantities and its highly sought after. #whalesbro

I hear Stone Entitlement Ale is dropping in March - available in every market in sufficient quantities so that everyone can buy as many bottles as they wish.

With all the tragedies, problems and unfairness in the world, you chose to write an indignant letter about beer?

I must be the only person in the world who has ever written an "indignant" letter about beer. Let me guess, you spend your days volunteering at the Red Cross?

I'm not so sure about that. I suspect that Southern California *always* would get the most votes, because it has the most Stone groupies. My guess is that they made the decision to hit SoCal with every other Best of batch. If they hit SoCal with batch each time, the number of other markets that get to try it would be greatly reduced , and I think they really want to be fair to all their markets, as well as get more groupies.
