Yes, I agree completely! All I drink from Treehouse lately is their 5.5% beers or under. Pales mostly, Lukr pours if I’m in the taproom. I’m currently drinking a Eureka! Citra and it is delicious.

 

I don't even bother with Green anymore, too much of a crapshoot. Latest Lights On is on point, but last batch was even more impressive,

 

Agreed regarding Green. I can’t remember the last good batch I had. I may get it on draft but never in cans anymore, which is unfortunate, as it was an iconic ipa back in the day.

 

The only way it’s gotten to how I want it to taste, is when I’ve held onto the cans for weeks. Tends to round out a bit. I wish I understood what’s up with that beer. Other than the Galaxy troubles for years now.

 

I’m gonna try the same thing. The cans I bought on Sunday were packaged on 12/9, so I’ll probably give it another couple of weeks before opening another one.

As someone who almost always prefers the single IPA extra hopped ones and the regular DIPAs to the DDDIPAS, color me very sad we didn’t get Very Sappy or Sssappp this year. (Side shout out to Very Sappy for having the best can art in the game.) I did get some Super Sap though, not sure what is different between that and VS. haven’t cracked into it yet and it’s probably been 5 years since I last had it.

 

I think it was just a funny coincidence, as the piece in Forbes was just published yesterday.

Made a trip out to Charlton today since we were much closer for Christmas.

Anyone happen to be there around 2:30? We were cutoff on 20 by a volunteer fire truck at the intersection before TH and we’re like that’s absolutely going to TH. Which it was, and we went to the top main lot. 1-2 spots open and pulled in but taken so we stop and see the cops and ambulance ahead of us so we’re stuck. We wait and know someone will leave and we’ll grab the spot. Then some fucktard with CT plates passes us. And drives towards the koi pond with 2 crusiers, an ambulance and fire pickup and maybe another first responder. Passes them on the right like he’s driving up for curbside and is blocked in. Still tries to go around and drive up around on their sidewalk. Their cart literally blocks any where he can go. Then is stuck. Mind you, as I said multiple cruisers and an ambulance/fire. You are a special piece of shit to try and pass cops and fire actively on scene. Then he waits or does something for a while. Now decides to reverse past all said officers and fire and just back up into everyone and steal a spot from someone waiting. Fuck everything about that person. I think Em has a great pic but I’ll spare that. We wait and a nice couple gives us a spot. Walk into winter lodge(which had nothing open outside) and there is a person being bandaged on his forearm fairly wide. The police have more than one group pulled aside and are questioning. No clue what they are saying but they speak to multiple people and someone is telling the cops I’m just here visiting the area I’m just here visiting the area that’s it. Later some other guys says to cops “there wasn’t really any scuffle” So….anyone? What the fuck did we walk into and just miss? What’s going on in Charlton Treehouse!? Ha. Maybe a dog bit someone?

Anywho, we walk away from that mess and grab pours. I’m driving so Em grabs Nascent Truth Double Coconut. To be fair, I’m a huge coconut fan when it comes to my opinion. That has got to be one of the best stouts I’ve had and certainly from them, period. It immediately hit me like tasting Morning Delight not that long ago but with Coconut instead of Maple. It’s just so refined, balanced, thick and the booze is just harmonious. Haven’t had a stout so polarizing since MD. Good Morning is so long ago it’s hard to compare, but it’s very much at that same impact level. But obviously much bigger and barrel aged. What a fantastic beer! Even if I only had a few sips. Was happy for her to enjoy it. I tried JP+C&G and highly enjoyed it.

Super Sap is intended to just be the straight Sap recipe scaled up to be a DIPA. Though is murky (pun intended) how this would be different from Very Sappy.

 

It was available in Tewksbury but sold out super quickly.

 

Super Sap is Imperial Sap, DIPA Sap, whatever you wanna call it.
Very Sappy is extra-hopped Super Sap.
Very Sssappyyy is the super-hopped Super Sap.

 

I had no problem getting a bottle at Charlton this afternoon, and it’s still available afaik.

 

I was gonna stop in at Deerfield and grab one if they were available but never came up on the website. All good! Next time!

Wax top Julius just seems too gimmicky for me. Saved my personal sanity by only charging ~$12 for it. Honestly was expecting $25 or so with the 15% wax tax
