Why are details required when reporting a retired beer?

Just looking at the beers in the Cloudwater database

Lots of retired beers so decided to send some updates

When I select as an update option Retired 'no longer brewed' it suggests I need to enter 15 characters minimum on the 'details' field.

Why is this ?

The beer is retired and no longer brewed ... nothing else to say no detail to add!

Cloudwater don't keep a database of handy links for this.

It's local knowledge and cross referencing to the UT database.

 

Nah ... all too much work tbh and hundreds of copy and pastes that I don't have time for ... it just needs local knowledge to be trusted and a good clean up

Cloudwater have perhaps 10 or 12 core beers then the rest are effectively one offs with occasional rebrews after perhaps 1, 2 or 3 years

Of the 505 active beers on the Cloudwater database here on BA I'd say at least 400 are no longer brewed

Good luck in ever sorting that ... not for me to get involved with!
