Waited patiently 24 months for this previous seasonal to return. One of my first local craft beer experiences ever, at least a year before joining BA. Thank you for introducing me to this excellent beer @DTLVTOUR !

1) Hop Butcher Galaxy Bowl (8.0% canned 10/28/24): A NEIPA from Chicago with Galaxy for flavors of grapefruit, pineapple, passionfruit, and tangerine.
versus
2) Hop Butcher Cosmic Glow (8.0% canned 11/5/2024): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, Rakau, Waimea and Mosaic for flavors of orange, tangerine, apricot skins, tropical melon, and mango

Happy Friday BeerAdvocates and Hop Butcher IPA Battle. First is Galaxy Bowl All galaxy for some complex citrus flavors but also that classic Hop Butcher smoothness to balance.
Next is Cosmic Glow. Great hop combo with the Rakau and Waimea. Similar, but slightly more tropical berries and grape.
I really like both of these. I think Galaxy Bowl is a bit brighter and cleaner which I like, but the flavors in both are similar.
Winner: Galaxy Bowl

This is the 2nd of my 2x16 from my BROIL, it would'a been a one'n'dun 'cept I got two. A 9.2% Barrel-Aged Grand Cru from SoundGrowler from Tinley Park, Illinois.
I guess Grand Cru is not really a style of beer, it just means "well made" (from my very limited research). I added this beer to the BA listings, as it was not listed here or on SoundGrowlers website. So I looked at Untappd.
On Untappd, SoundGrowler has a Grand Cru, and a Barrel-Aged Grand Cru. The Grand Cru is listed as an American Wild Ale, the BA version is listed as a Belgian Quad, (makes no sense to me, but I'm old and feeble minded, WTF do I know), so that's how I listed it!

...if I screwed this up, so be it, but I can attest, it's a beer, one I drank, but will never buy, kinda like MGD!

 

Good video. Probably the only time I've ever seen Petty playing an SG. Then again, I don't watch alot of Petty but have always seen him with a Telecaster!
