Im sure youve all seen them, The baskets they make for Serving Geuze, Cantillon uses them alot. I really want one, but Cannot find them anywhere except for Etre Gourmet. And it comes out to 60 USD just to get the Basket here. Anybody know where to get them cheaper? Or have one they are willing to trade? I hope to do a Geuze tasting soon and really want to have one of these Serving baskets. Cheers!

Keep an eye on eBay. I was able to get two for about $25 each. The one pictured below is more versatile as it can be used with both 375 ml and 750 ml bottles.

Me, and many of my friends have snagged them off there. I think I paid $12 including shipping for mine. Just look for wine baskets or something.

WHY DO I TELL YOU ABOUT NICE THINGS???

In all seriousness, OP, just keep searching eBay and etsy for 'wicker wine basket' or 'wicker bottle basket.'

From personal experience, always look for baskets that have either a tight ring to go around the neck or a squared slot for the neck to sit in otherwise the bottle will want to slip out as you are pouring.

Also: it would be advisable to avoid these kinds of baskets:

The one I bought was too narrow to hold a 750mL bottle, but too long to hold a 375mL. Wine bottles come in so many shapes and sizes, even for 750mL, that pictures can be deceptive. It's usually best to go for the gravy boat style.

I've never used one of these baskets. What is the point to them unless you've been cellaring the beer on its side for a while? I see people getting a beer in the mail and then serving it in a basket the next weekend and the yeast has barely begun to settle and they're storing it upright so it's not like it's settling on the side facing the basket. I assume part of the reason to use one is to avoid agitating the yeast when you pour. I assume they're all presentation for most people but they must have some practical use.

All of my Lambics are stored on their sides. But the main reason I want the basket is for looks. Planning a lambic tasting. Why not be fancy haha

It's to minimize agitation of the yeast, or at least that is why I use it. Even with bottles stored upright the difference in number of clear, bright pours is significant.
