Yeah I'm off during the week.

Also this most recent batch of Julius is on point. Seem to be batting 1.000 so far.

Having a Black Fern canned 11/29...what a great beer this is! I really like the southern hemisphere hops and this one is no exception. Loads of flavor, white wine, tropical fruits, very soft and drinkable.

lol what is this? I'm just going to say it: It's not the same beer. But that's ok. They gotta do what they gotta do, and I would still buy it

Treehouse puts advertising copywriters to shame....

    Luckily, their beers are good

But how am I supposed to know that from that absolutely empty description?

At times and with certain beers, I believe some of the obscurity is influenced by Nate and wants to you make your own decisions about the beer and what it is, without ingredient bias. He’s never said it, but eluded to it previously. It’s selective, but it’s definitely by design. As I know certain repetitive milestone beers seem to follow this as well as one offs. Happy New Year as an example.

I do get the frustration however, as it can make me hesitant to purchase not knowing if it could be hops or a malt bill I will not enjoy.

Exactly! My non-beer friends find Treehouse beer descriptions hilarious, not in a good way.

Sounds like Nate is a graduate of The Shaun Hill School of Beer Blather.

This sounds like it could be a good explanation.

But if so, it's a very odd choice. With their many different beer series focused on hops, terroir, etc. - Find the Limit, Nelson Many Ways, Evolution of Citra, the malt-varying pale ales they made a while back, and all the dozens, maybe hundreds of lagers built around particular hops and even very specific hop growing locations - they seem to be trying to teach their customers to pick up on fine details and develop knowledge of their palates.

These generic descriptions do the opposite - essentially saying, "rather than using your knowedge about what goes into beer to make informed selections from our high quality offerings, please make your choices based purely on our whimsical names and descriptions that offer no information about the contents or attributes of the product."

It really frustrates me. I trust them to make good beer, but I also know what I like and have a limited budget. I'm not spending chunks of that budget on beers whose descriptions don't give me enough information to make an informed decision. All the more reason to mostly stick with the core IPAs and a few trusted others, until enough information pops up here to provide confidence in the more ethereally described options.

It's the beer I wish I could have shared with my elementary school janitor.

Looks like original release of C11 was heavy on Vienna malt with Amarillo and mosaic the primary hops. I feel like they have to have kept that all consistent and any changes are just process, else why call it c11.

I legitimately want to say his name was Joe. He had a mustache and glasses and played accordion. Or was that the one in high school...

It definitely has mosaic, for sure. It's kinda like Doppelganger but better. Although I doubt C11 had hop burn when it was released first

Would love for them to put the hops on all their IPAs. I’m wondering if they don’t do it on certain beers that have identical or extremely similar hop bills, but maybe different ratios. This would cause confusion and people questioning if they were releasing the same beers under different names. I’ll give them a little credit, though; they’ve been way more forthcoming on what hops they use. Probably to advertise some of the new buzz-worthy hops they like to use, like Peacharine.

I would like to know so I can avoid certain hops, like the aforementioned Peacharine

It read like it's written by a guy who likes to smell his own farts.

More seriously, as a consumer that wants to know what I'm drinking, this nonsense copy is a huge turn off.
