Was it sitting on a doily on top of the trash? Was it above or below the rim?

Sorry, gotta get seinfeld references in when I can.

Yeah, and if not the specific hop bill at least maybe a flavor profile would be helpful. Other Half, for example, is usually good about providing both.

If there are two breweries I can appreciate for hop information on basically every can. Along with descriptors.

Ok so you know how we've been talkin' up recent batches of Lights On/Off and Alter Ego?

Yeah. Go get some Dr. J. if you can. Wish I had this on draft.

I spent a good hour at Other Half about ten years ago reading over a board of beers that was like 22 hoppy beers and three 14% stouts making fun of this very thing.

"Beer number one is an Oated IPA with 40% mosaic, 50% simcoe, and 10% citra hops."
"Beer number two is 30% mosaic, 40% citra and 30% simcoe, also it's oated."

And so on and so on and I was drunk so it was probably funny for the first two or three examples but then stopped being funny at beer 20.

Last summer at Other Half Bloomfield (in the Finger Lakes) I was up front paying my tab when a dude came up to the next server and asked, “do you have anything hoppy?” Best moment of the day.

It stopped being funny 7 years ago and is why we have so many taps at breweries dedicated to minor riffs on the same IPA.

Glass half full take? You can now get pretty much any IPA you want because people started noticing this and don’t care anymore.

I can have a multitude of Hill Farmstead IPAs if I want at bars, see Heady Topper in my fridge and don’t have to truck chase, and can stroll into Tree House for a litany of IPAs without limits.

I’ll be at Other Half in a few weeks and will stare at the board and look for hoppy guy.

Of course you have to buy these brewer vs. brewer beers by the four pack. Can't give us the mixed 4 pack.

Oh good I stand corrected, they just added them, that would have been sort of lousy.

Moment of patience sounds nice. But, It's not as exciting as if it had more than a "thread" of barrel aged stout added. To me this means less than 10% of the beer is any different than Moment of Clarity (amazing stout on its own)

    Yeah very intrigued by this.

Somehow this led me to do a little dive into Good Morning Untapped reviews. Do yourself a favor and take a peak at people that somehow still have found growlers of it to try.

More options is more options. It's great and we even have Double Sunshine coming to distro. I haven't had that beer since pre-Covid when we had a Vermont wedding. I remember it being just as great as I remember it from the old bottles.

Can't imagine it still tastes great.

I have a feeling it will never be brewed again, because it could never live up to the hype. At the time it was a great and innovative beer, but the pastry wave of 2018 until now would make it look pretty boring I would imagine.

If I were Nate, I would brew it, but release it under a different name to avoid all the "NO WHERE NEAR AS GOOD AS IT WAS BEFORE" comments that will surely flood the scene
