Shuckers wings with a Fiddlehead Second Fiddle for supper. Shame on me, bought the Second Fiddle at Kappy's in Peabody MA on 1/6, canned on 8/17/24, didn't check the date. Fuck, you would think in the greater Boston area craft beer would move rather quickly......fuck no......

First Frequentem anything: their 2025 imperial American stout. Cold, it carries a hefty dose of baker’s chocolate with a mud-range sort of everything. As it warms, it develops more complexity in the flavor, and the mouthfeel thickens up slightly. $15/500 ml is perhaps a bit steep for a non-BA stout, but it’s o e I might revisit or add to trades.

I hear ya buddy! I won't go in Total Wine down here without my glasses so I can read dates. My buddy Mike and i saw a couple 2023 dates at the Lady Lake Total Wine last week....

Sound quality totally stinks but the fact Billy Strings tossed the acoustic aside and jumped on the electric is worth the price of admission right here! I think @jvgoor3786 is now going to disown him for turning to the dark side.

That's actually a pretty awesome looking pour and one of those you could describe in a beer review as a "rocky, billowy head"! Love it!

 

The problem down here is the liquor stores stock up for the summer crowd and don’t restock much good beer after Labor Day. Plenty of fresh Bud and Corona but all there is left is old dates until the spring.

 

Picked up an Edmund Fitzgerald Porter. Somehow or another, I managed to acquire some rare stuff from the Fitzgerald era to go with my other artifacts from the Great Lakes ships - this is the original engine room logbook from the Ford Motor Company vessel William Clay Ford that went back out to search. A simple notation; the second photo is the deck log, no doubt filled in after when the realization she had sunk set in. Right after picking it up, I got the last known film of Fitz also on 8mm, gonna do the first showing of it at a 50th anniversary presentation in November this year. Anyway, some history for you...
