What beer are you drinking now? #4490

1) Toppling Goliath Fire, Skulls, & Money (7.8% canned 11/8/24): A NEIPA from Iowa with Citra, Mosaic, Galaxy, and Nelson for flavors of grapefruit and orange citrus flower, vinous white grape, gooseberry with some pine and berry to balance. Juicy, complex, and clean.

2) Toppling Goliath Sosus (8.2% canned 1/22/25): A NEIPA from Iowa with Mosaic for flavors of tropical orange, blueberry, grape, tropical melon with a sweet nectar and berry flower flavor. (Mismatched the two beers blind)

Just your casual Monday and for whatever reason I decided to have a World-Class Toppling Goliath IPA battle.
First is Fire, Skulls, & Money. The GOAT Toppling Goliath IPA. The Nelson adds a grapefruit, white grape, and berry flower flavor that is indescribable.
Next is a fresh release, Sosus. Twelve days fresh and my first try at it. All Mosaic here. A single hop, but Mosaic can do some complex and wonderful things. Lots of tropical orange, blueberry, grape and melon notes. Even some sweet nectar but still with enough berry flower and floral notes to brighten it.
All I can say for now is it's outstanding, but I'll have to try this again a few times to have a more accurate rating. This is preliminary. I'll probably do this battle again once Sosus hits that peak 4-6 week mark. Three months and Fire, Skulls, & Money hasn't even lost a step.
Winner: Fire, Skulls, & Money.

 

Temps in the low 70s today only. Gonna enjoy it while I can. Cheers!

Listed as "retired" here, this is back at a lowered ABV of 7.1% clearly a "pastry" stout but not as sweet as most. Enjoyable. Controversy aside I approve of the Grammy awarded to the Beatles for using AI to blend Lennons voice from a previously unreleased song with the other Beatles.

This one had me wanting so much more.

 

I couldn't sleep any more - I was wide awake which is why i got up in the first place.

 

Having this Guinness 0 at the moment. I have lab work tomorrow at 7 am for an upcoming physical on the 14th so I have to fast from 7 pm on. I'm not really looking forward to that as i don't particularly like my doctor. My original doctor was great but when he retired a few years ago he sold his business to this guy and I just don't like his style. Big pharma owns him and everything he does is driven by them - throw all these designer meds at the patient, there is no other way, that seems to be his philosophy. I think all he does is Google stuff ..
