I'm old enough to have been a free range kid too, good times.

Sorry to hear this, Tom. It has been about 14 years since my mom passed away, and my dad is getting up there. Memories are everything.

Love these in-person meet ups. @Resistance88 and I were going to get together tonight (on my way to LAX to get my wife), but turns out her flight was canceled and ended up in totally different airport. Bummer, but we ARE meeting up soon.

This a Jackie O's collab with Fonta Flora. Barrel aged barleywine brewed with blood butcher corn. This will be included in my b-wine/stout bif box. No spoilers though, my target has not posted here this year or last.

Cheers to Jackie O's for switching from 12.7oz bottles to 12oz cans. Jeers for keeping the price the same:rolling_eyes:

Anyway, the beer is great. Bright, light sweetness in the form of the innards of a butterfinger, honey, butterscotch, marzipan, and more. The barrel notes are big and bountiful. Jackie does it again.

Crazy seeing a barrel aged barleywine from Jackie O's in a can. Cheers!

I'm fine with the change but the price should drop, especially when going from singles to packs.

From everything I read it seems like cans are a better recyclable than glass.

When breweries switched from bombers and 750s to packs the price drops were very steep. Look at Sierra Nevada. The 4packs of pints for the barrel aged stuff costs less than the 750s used to. Even with Firestone, parabolita is cheaper than parabola and you get more beer.

Still some top tier stuff (revolution) out there for much better prices.

I’m pessimistic so there’s that but I agree with you. Overall, the trend seems to be less ounces higher prices. At the very least it seems like smaller format with the same prices. Maybe I just seek out the wrong breweries.

Never heard of Lolev Beer until @Spade gave me this can of Demeter. Looks like this was aged in Missouri oak.

Very sweet for an American barleywine. Though there is plenty of citrus, it's candy like rather than bitter or pithy. Lots of caramel as well and just a hint raisins from a breakfast cereal. The mouthfeel is full and lush. Really liking this, thanks Harry!

Never heard of them until I found this last spring. Wasn't too sure at first but a few cans in and it grew on me.

    Happy to share!

Drank at cellar temperature. This is excellent - hanging out in my cellar for 15 years this beer has arrived at the perfect balance of caramel malt and resinous hops. Probably the best cellared Bigfoot I've had.

Very unique barleywine here. Not a red wine fan, but it doesn’t show in the flavor profile. Definitely get the rye and it reminds me of Ryeway to Heaven from Rev. makes sense since it’s a collab between the two. Thanks @DIM Really good stuff!
