Did cherry rye ever make it to NY?

Actually not sure of the delivery time for WF. Ted from TH told me the afternoon for his store.

True. If I get there at 11 or so and they have it, I'll let this thread know (or I can message certain members interested - whatever works for you guys). I just want 2 bottles - 1 to drink and 1 to age.

 

I wouldn't go to WF Bowery. It came and went

 

I don't think this is accurate - no other beer store in NYC/5 boroughs, to my knowledge, received it yet. I doubt WF got it before New Beer, American Beer Distributors, TH, Good Beer, and WF Columbus Circle.

 

I am unsure of the other places but I know that it was had at bowery. Just advising so people don't waste their time

 

By the way, not sure if this has any relevance to the conversation, but an interesting note. My friend (who lives in Brooklyn and works in Westchester) told me this:

"I asked at prospect heights beer works yesterday and they told me that anheiser busch did the distribution directly instead of going through their distributors and they didn't get any."

Not sure if this is a sign of things to come on the distribution end from our friends at Goose Island.

Side question - is anyone fairly acquainted with WF Columbus Circle? My impression is that their selection of rarer beers is growing by the week, and with the addition of the beer room and additional floor space that growth looks to continue. Curious to know if anyone has insider's knowledge, though.

 

totally made it to LI, and sold out fast. Saw it at a shop in nassau, and another in suffolk.

 

what beer room? the bar never has rare beers in it, and otherwise, it's just a tiny area next to the smelly parmesan.

 

It is next to the smelly cheese, but if they ever hide beers that you need to ask for that's where you need to go to get them. They kept all the Coffee BCS back there this year

 

That's good to know - IN the bar, or behind the cheese counter?

In response to Franch, I'm not suggesting that they regularly get super-rare stuff, but most recently they've had Madame Rose, Night Stalker, Big John, and Bolt Cutter, and I've seen a lot of other lesser-distributed stuff there as well (Cascade, Maine Brewing Co., etc) that certainly wasn't available there a year ago.

WF Chelsea is getting some today (one case) but no idea when. Guy told me Bowery is going to be a shitshow.

 

In at WF Columbus Circle, $19.99 a bottle. They also still have some Bolt Cutter.

I heard the employees talking and it sounded like they were holding a couple bottles from their case for people, but the bottles had to be picked up today. They may then have a couple bottles tomorrow.

 

WF Chelsea has 6. At 1:30 they're releasing a code. You need to show up at 430 with the code to get a raffle ticket. I am serious.

 

Also New Beer is getting some in later. Talked to them at noon
