Plenty cold here, got a dusting of snow. They were predicting 7" of snow for Tuesday, now down to 4.5. I am doing a snow dance. I can work from home if need be...

Forgot, smoker has been going 7 hours pork butt & spatchcocked yard bird from Trader Joes. About to finish all in the oven. The cold eats the hardwood.

Fair State Eternal Shrug (6.66%): A Black IPA from Minnesota with flavors of bitter pine, black malt, roast. Bitter, clean, and dry.

Black IPAs keep growing on me. This one from Fair State is excellent. Bitter pine, black malt, roast, while finishing clean. Sort of like a west-coast IPA but with the addition of some darker roast. Fair State always comes up with the best.

I second what @tacosandbeer says @SABERG. Volunteered at a beer festival in Greenville, SC this past summer and was pouring Wunderkammer offerings. Not that i am big on the wild style but what i sampled was top notch, and it was easy to see the attending folks that appeciated the artisanal work! I did manage to spirit away with "Perfect Red King", look forward to it someday soon!
    Cheers!

That's very true about cold beer. And Damm.. beer drinking truly is a challenge in the colder areas of the country?!

It's a filthy day, weather-wise, but at least it's a long weekend. Cheers to that! Having an OH Triple Citra Daydream. Delightful drinking!

Thanks - you folks typically get a little more snow than we do in South Central Ma. Hopefully you're spared the icing they're all saying is going to happen later. I don't think we're going to see much of that here.

Remember the ice storm of 2010?

I cleared a widow’s driveway across the street today and she came out with coffee and a few shortbread cookies. I gladly took that trade. I thought about saying, “Boy, a little scotch in the mug would go great with these shortbreads,” but I feared my mother would telepathically smack me upside the head from over a thousand miles away. I opted for ‘Thank you.”

I truly sympathize. Our prior home had a long, steep driveway that was wide at the bottom. I was 26 when we bought it. By the time I was 58 I knew I couldn't handle it any more. So we relocated about 3 miles to a house on a cul-de-sac with a very short, flat driveway. While it is still a pain at times I no longer live in mortal fear of breaking my hip. Cheers!

We are Doug. Bracing for lousy weather starting mid-week thru next weekend, some snow and freezing rain coming down the pike. I know it's nuttin' for you hearty NW USA folks, but bad weather sucks when you sign on for a temperate four seasons climate. Have not hiked since New Years Eve for F****ks sake LOL! Hope you are over your flu and back to feeling your normal self!
    Cheers!
