    1) Ayinger Celebrator (6.7%): A German Doppelbock with flavors of caramel, brown bread, toffee, tobacco. Some toasted, slightly roasty chocolate notes.
    versus
    2) Tucher Brau Bajuvator (7.2%): A German Doppelbock with flavors of caramel, brown bread, earthy Munich malts. Smooth and sweet. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

German Doppelbock Battle. First is Ayinger Celebrator. One of the best. Dynamic flavors of German malt, dark grains, tobacco, cocoa and molasses.
Next is Tucher Brau Bajuvator. First try at this and cool name here. Drinks with more caramel and brown bread sweetness, but less complexity.
The complexity of Celebrator is unmatched with the earthy, tobacco, molasses, and cocoa notes.
Amazing beer and #1 on BeerAdvocate for good reason.
    Winner: Ayinger Celebrator

    @BeerVikingSailor Happy Birthday dude!
@Shanex a blonde is always great to take in regardless the form!
@LarryV i look forward to getting back out on your page and checking out Larry's latest!
@VABA that is a new to me SNBC offering, i'll have to see if it is in at my local grocer who is pretty quick with putting out all their offerings...speaking of which i am digging Hop Tropical, a limited Souther Hemisphere take on a Westie. Hopefully they will bring this back!
Listening to Pop Rocks on Sirius.
    Cheers!

Impressive # of taps for a Whole Foods, ours has a little over half compared to that! Out of curiosity, what's the price on that pour? (Ours charges $7 - $8 for that particular glass pour, but for a D-IPA.)

Beautiful Frank Gambale signature guitar, I remember when you put the order in to Kiesel. They do such great work, I had a Carvin DC100 back in the day and it was impeccable, I regret selling that guitar.

Nice job on the new song, BTW!

Gorgeous pic! My first guess of the location was in the Pacific. Never been to the Caribbean but there is a fascinating history as told to me by James Michener's excellent factional book named after the region.
Onto round 2 and staying the Sierra Nevada course. Not my favorite from SNBC due to the sweetness but always is included in the Torpedo packs but is pretty solid nonetheless.
    Cheers!

Thanks Jeff!! Yes, that is the Frank Gambale - the neck on that guitar is incredible. I really need to play that one more often. I also like the fact that it's a relatively light guitar, not like a Les Paul. Cheers!!

I got the beer in the last Sierra Nevada pack sold at Costco (called Heavy Hitter Pack). The pack sold out pretty quickly. I am now on the lookout for the two latest beers Electric Torpedo and Phantom Torpedo, which I am sure will be part of a pack at Costco. Cheers!

It's warm outside, for the last time this week, so I got the groceries, and went for a mountain bike ride, and outside day drank some DOUBLE BASTARD. Give us Double Bastard in 19.2 oz cans, AB!

    1) Hop Butcher Best Buds (8.0% canned 11/19/24): A NEIPA from Chicago with Simcoe and Moteuka for flavors of orange citrus and zest, tropical green melon, and some lime.
    versus
    2) Hop Butcher Orange Moss (7.5% canned 1/14/25): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, Simcoe, and Tangier for flavors of orange, bright tangerine and flower with hints of tropical peach and strawberries. (Mismatched the two blind)

Hop Butcher NEIPA Battle. First is Best Buds, a collab with American Solera. Simcoe and Moteuka. Very nice and complex flavors yet clean.
Next is Orange Moss. Similar Simcoe, but with some Citra and Tangier. A bit more orange, tangerine, and mango. Some peach and strawberry underneath. Excellent from Hop Butcher. Close battle.
I think the Moteuka in Best Buds adds some nice complexity here.
    Winner: Hop Butcher Best Buds
