Let me tell you the story of Keith Jarrett's Koln Concert...or at least the very abridged version  After traveling cross continents, the last long bit by car, to the Koln Opera House, Jarrett was exhausted, having not slept for 2 days. The piano was not a grand, as he was told, but a baby grand piano. That was horribly out of tune, and you couldn't even use the upper register as the keys didn't go down. Let alone the peddles not working properly. It fell to a basically teen age Vera Brandes to fix it all. She got a piano tech to fix what could be fixed in the hour or so before the concert, but the range of the piano was still not good. Though she made it doable, and in the last 50 years she has become a legend for jazz producers...Not just for this, but for tirelessly promoting and producing independent and underrepresented musical artists. There is even a movie biopic about her coming out, Koln 75. It has nothing to do with Keith Jarrett, and he doesn't want it that way, it is about how she helped create this masterpiece of a solo piano concert that is 100% improvised on a crappy piano that doesn't have its entire range, let alone tuned properly ha.

I really can't stand modern movies, but Koln 75 sounds like something I would enjoy, I'll be looking to see it somewhere. Though that is another issue i have with modern movies, when something sounds good...there is nowhere to actually see it, or its on some random streaming service I have never heard of, let alone am going to pay for. OK, rant over

Oh yeah...The Koln Concert was recorded in 1975, and is now the 50th anniversary of the biggest selling piano concert ever.

With some Holfbrau Dunkel in the glass. I mean, its a Munich beer, from only three hours away from the where the concert took place  OK, that was a lot...listen to the music.

ISIL cross-post. I am having a later start than usual for a Saturday. This legendary craft beer is courtesy of @Nugganooch. While he is seated at the virtual bar. It works out well for me go through the incredible selection of west coast beers he sent me during prime time for west coast BAs.
