Awesome 83 degree afternoon, The Rake a DDH DIPA from Angry Chair Brewing.

Got in a 16 mile road ride with 5 7% hill repeats, slow coming back to the light...

 

Didn't check the date on this single because they just got a new drop. 12/17/24 and it is still really tasty. Cheers!

 

La Cumbre Mosaic IPA

 

This is just a phenomenal beer. Not much else to say. It just ticks all the boxes for me. I love it so much.

 

1) Drowned Land Find Time (4.8%): A German Helles Lager from New York with flavors of pale malt, yeast, light sour and tartness.
versus
2) Utepils Helles (5.1%): A German Helles Lager from Minnesota with flavors of smooth pale malt, earthy bread malt and honeyflower. Smooth. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

German Helles Battle. First is Drowned Land Find Time. First try at this. Pale malts, lots of carbonation. A light sourness to it. Not an off flavor, but sort of odd.
Next is Utepils Helles. One of my favorites. Fantastic earthy Munich malt and honey flavors. Incredibly complex and smooth.
Winner: Utepils Helles

 

It's Tuesday! 3 mile walk, $2 drafts day here at Tap 22. Today's brews, on the left, Three Floyd's Gumballhead, top right, a bottom of the keg Toppling Goliath Pseudo Sue, and bottom right, Blind Pig U of IPA. Cheers!

Where's the beer!

 

Columbus Brewing Co - Nightflyer - Limited release, Black Double IPA. Featuring a blend of Chinook, Citra, Mosaic, Talus, and Idaho 7 hops.

Love black IPAs, love the brewery, doesn't disappoint. Nice and toasty but also a little hoppy and juicy, which I can't recall noticing in the few I have had way too long ago. Never had a double one though.

Also nice to see a good head and lacing. It's a Christmas miracle.
