Agreed. I drank far too much of it at one release event. Probably close to three pints.

Just as well it comes out but once a year.

I'm heading to Santa Ana this weekend for the first time. I'll be staying close to the downtown location and was planning to just go there, but y'all have me thinking that I should do downtown one day and Windsor the other. I'm wondering about waiting in what looks to be some rainy weather. How much of the line at the two locations will be covered and how much will be out in the open where I should have rain protection?

Are you going to Santa Ana or Santa Rosa? If it's Santa Ana, neither location will work...

I’m sorry I don’t understand. Do you mean Santa Rosa?

I was just there on Wednesday and today (Thursday) and visited both locations. Windsor has some tents set up to cover most of the line from the rain. If you are going on the weekend, expect at least a 2-2.5 hr wait to get in minimum...possibly more depending on when you get there.

Santa Rosa has no tents or anything so bring an umbrella with you as the wait there will be about the same.

Dress warmly with layers...there wasn't a lot of wind thankfully, but it can get pretty chilly being out in the elements for so long.

Damn! That long a wait on a Wednesday/Thursday over at the Windsor location? What time did you get there?

Yeah, man! In the rain, too!

I live about two and half hours away and got to Windsor about 11:30 am thinking that the cold and rain and it being midweek would keep the lines shorter. I was mistaken...LOL! I didn't get in until around 1:30pm.

It was still a good time as usual and I got to chat with Vinnie, but I didn't think I would have to wait as long as I did. Russian River and Pliny the Younger are still as popular as ever.

I haven't been down for the release in a while, but that's a much more sizeable wait then I would have expected (based on my previous experiences). That long a wait at the Santa Rosa outpost wouldn't have surprised me, but not Windsor (which is so much larger).

Maybe Spring break is partly to blame? (just thinking to myself)

Just an update for anyone curious: on a drizzling Sunday morning, we arrived at 6:30am and were about #35 in line for the 10:30 opening, which means we were in the first group. The first 30 or so were exposed to the elements, so they needed umbrellas. We hit it just about perfect where we were just past the alley and could wait under businesses' awnings and be protected from the rain.

The very first people in line got there at 5:30, and I think that people who got there as late as 7:15ish were about the last to get into the downtown location in the first group.
