its really been five years?! I was gonna head to Treehouse today, maybe I'll stop at Trillium first. I haven't bought from them in a long ass time. But after having Milky Green a few weeks ago, I wonder if there have been some good batches of galaxy coming in or something.
Gonna need some feedback here kids Would have some shipped, if shipping wasn’t close to the cost of two 4 packs of Green…
Yeah, those are all wrong - surprising how many do it wrong. I think the last batch they did of this was in 2020 when they did a one-off of it in 750 mL bottles again, instead of cans - was fun to drink nostalgically but cans are way easier. This was one of my favorite beers, especially early on (if I remember right I think I was the first checkin of it on untappd). Curious how it will be all these years later.
I’ve had Congress Street and DDH Fort Point recently. They were good but I felt not god-like like back in the day. I think the move is to have it on tap the determine if you buy.
Can confirm, checked in the last batch on my Untapped, August 2019 so more 4.5 years but we can round up.
The smell is amazing. Reminds me of that saturated hop smell from the fort point days. Turbid AF The taste is a little astringent and has that dusty hop pellet burn thing im afraid. But it still has a nice pineapple/tropical fruit bite but it gets washed away by the kind of bitterness I don’t like might not be a problem for most but it’s the reason I stopped buying their beers, which is a bummer because I live a few miles from Fenway. It’s just a little messy for me but I AM enjoying it. Personally I wouldn’t go out of my way for it but I’m curious what others think. I’m overly sensitive to the hop burn ever since I was introduced to the concept by never and again. Edit: a few more sips im liking it more. It’s definitely one of the more pineapple forward galaxy beers I’ve had in a long time. Maybe galaxy is getting better again? Still has a dusty finish that is getting in the way
Late to the party and missed out, darn. My first check-in was 2016 and last check-in on draft at Banners next to TD Garden right before the second-to-last Celtics game prior to shutdown (3/8/2020).
I had a similar reaction as @JonnyJuicebox. It was decent, not great. Very much in line with most recent releases. I wouldn't have FOMO over this one, personally, despite the nostalgia as it wasn't on the same level IMO.
@brewme …it was there at 5pm tonight. Looked like plenty of 4 packs in the cooler in canton. Queen bees is also sold out online, but I counted a dozen bottles on the shelf, too. Good luck!
Looks like it’s still for sale at Fort Point as of 10:20 pm so I think I’ll be good to go to grab it tomorrow. I suppose with Trilliums site I can just order it first thing in the morning and it’ll be there waiting for me ha
I’d agree with this. I figured it would be hop burn, good, or god-like. It was good, but not what it was ten years ago. Back then it was in the running for the best New England IPA I’d ever had. Worth going though since they have some other beers that were tasty.
All I can say is wow. This immediately brought me back to old Congress days. Draft pour, was fantastic and A rating Glalaxy, mouthfeel and aroma. We’ll see about the cans.
Nice, thanks for the feedback. How does it compare to some of the recent Galaxy forward hops from Tree House?
