First foray into Jester King. Finding this much to my liking. Spring is perking the view up in WNC the last few weeks. Listening to Lithium.
    Cheers!

At least it's starting to look like spring around here.

Rainy morning, cloudy afternoon, Double Sunny beer...

Would be even more sunny if Ovi could knock out the record tonight, as unlikely as that might be.

Next up is Rrëy No. 5 Mexican IPA. Kinda mediocre, reminds me of meh craft IPAs from 20 years ago.

Oh man. Why Not? Pale Ale was great! Makes me think THAT is the Hazy I like. Not the DIPAs so much. Just damn good is what it is. Very refreshing.
So I'll tarry not and dive into a DAB for "Break Time".

Happy Friday indeed ba. Got done with work nice and early and I’m home to watch the Mets home opener.
Starting here with - Mind Mist, hazy ipa (citra & motueka), from Alewife. Not overly hop forward and feels rather light and juicy. Decent citrus fruit notes but not much depth. I mostly just get lemon and grapefruit. Definite off taste on the finish. Way too light and frizzy. This just isn’t very good,

Ah, wasn’t any close but good to see spring has sprung in the (broadly said) north of the US too.

Really beautiful these days, inciting me for a walk in the forest tomorrow.

Thanks - I will watch for that one. The distributors for my local store "merged" and since they did, I am not seeing Little Willow very often. Kind of irritating honestly.

Bell's Two Hearted Ale is #3 in my Classic Craft Beer Re-review Series. It was the first American IPA I ever had back in 2005, and its still a favorite.

    Re-review 4/4/2025
    Score 4.75
    Look 4.75, Smell 4.75, Taste 4.75, Feel 4.75, Overall 4.75

Bell's Two Hearted Ale was the very first American IPA I ever drank. It was the perfect introduction to the style. Single hop IPA's were big in the early days of craft beer, and 100% centennial hops is a winning formula.

Two Hearted Ale pours a clear gold color with a solid head that recedes quickly, but leaves rings of lacing down the glass. The aroma is citrusy with tangerines and grapefruit. It's simple, yet deep. The taste is similar with tons of citrus. There is enough malt that the bitterness doesn't run riot. The mouthfeel has a velvety texture, and lively carbonation.

Overall, it's a shame single hop IPA's aren't all the rage like they were when craft beer was in its youth. Two Hearted Ale's simplicity is its true genius. This beer has been a stand by in my refrigerator for twenty years. It's been a stand by at bats too. I love this beer.

    ----------

    Original Review 7/17/2005

Pours a dark orange color with amber hues, and a large off-white head. Smells of pineapples and floral hops. The taste is very fruity and lively with nice hop bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with plenty of carbonation. Overall, this is a great brew. Its taste doesn't get old, and its aroma is wonderful.

    Edit 2/22/09

[IMG] Over the years I have come to love the the taste and aroma of this beer, but hate the after effects. This beer more than any other I have ever drank leads to a very bad hangover. I mean I can't drink more than one without having a terrible headache all day long the day after.

Just hit the 80-degree mark on the back porch. Enjoying a Pilsner from the Fatherland to keep things chilled.

I am fortunate as i rarely get headaches given that i have practiced proper hydration in the morning/early afternoon living in the low desert for many years and wanting to avoid kidney stones.
With that said maybe once a quarter i will get a "hop headache". Not sure if it is a certain combo or a single hop that triggers it. And I typically don't have more than a couple of hoppy beers in a session.
As an aside my son-in-law is allergic to hops as he would always get congested whenever he had beer so he stopped drinking, but he has recreational cannabis as his go to.
    Cheers!
