@AzfromOz - sorry to hear about your Dad - a friend of mine had bladder cancer and had his bladder removed - the surgeons built him another from some of his intestine (I think) - that was more than a decade ago and the last I heard, he was doing fine.

Well, on a sunnier note (through the perpetual rain and cold), today's New Breakfast Beer:



Iron Smoke from Ellicottville Brewing. Purchased at Franklin Beer (Franklin, PA) 11/03/25. 16 fl oz can, $ 4.00 (Including tax)/ $ 0.25 fl oz. Reviewed 11/04/25 (Review 3500). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Final impression and summation: 4 Despite (or maybe because of) the age of this can, the flavors are well-balanced with the pumpkin shining through. The sweetness of the whiskey balances the potential bitterness added by the coffee, with the mellow spices accentuating the pumpkin muskiness, rather than masking it. Overall, an excellent pumpkin brew.

I'm sipping on this 13% abv Imperial Porter from Fieldwork Brewing in Berkeley California. Molasses, chocolate are huge. Licorice and coffee on the lighter side. Pretty darn roasty too.

Happy Friday ba. My last few days of vacation time so I’m gonna make them count.
Up and at it here w/ Chonky, ne-dipa (citra/mosaic), from fat orange cat brewing. Smooth drinking w/ a nice pithy/juicy feel. Citrus fruit notes that lack a bit of depth but nothing bad. Mostly orange, lemon, & grapefruit. Been a while since I’ve had anything from these guys but this is pretty good,

non-dated but they just hit here so I assume decently fresh,

Have a good Friday. Been up all night listening to Reagan by Bob Spitz and it's a marathon of a deep dive on history. I have 3 chapters left. 4.25/5 I want to apply for a shift brewer job asap. I just need to write up an email and talk up my homebrew knowledge and beer server cert. I really want this job. In Burlington.

Me and my wife came to poblanos Mexican and they have red oak on tap. Delicious clean and flavorful. Well balanced.
