What beer are you drinking now? #4560

For me it can sometimes be subtle but I believe it is truly about paleness and the lagering process. This Eckhart PL is quite hoppy but is bready. It leans towards Ale territory way more than a Vienna Lager or a good ol' adjunct Lager. I'm sure a good advocate can explain with expertise the technical differences btwx the two.

 

Nice! Wasn't sure if it was more Helles-like or just more hoppy. Cheers! Sun is finally back out, of course after the cold, wind and clouds decided to make me daydrink....

 

It's a really tasty beer. I also have a Dark Czech Lager from Eckhart that I look frwd to hittin'.
Still overcast here in Plymouth but no rain.

The Grateful Dead Hour, now at 10 PM each Monday on WDCB and across the country. Here's a half hour as an appetizer.

 

1) Hofbrau Dunkel (5.5%): A German Dunkel with flavors of dark earthy Munich malt.
versus
2) Ayinger Altbairisch Dunkel (5.0%): A German Dunkel with flavors of brown bread, earthy Munich malt, bread and yeast. (Correctly matched the two blind)

German Dunkel Battle. First is Hofbrau. Some dark malt cocoa, mild roast. Excellent and rounded.
Next is Ayinger. A bit more toasted, tobacco and malt complexity. Slightly sweeter. The complexity here is astounding. The best dunkel I've had.
Winner: Ayinger Dunkel

Good afternoon BAdvocates. Drinking the second Daura Damm from my six pack. Turning out to be an exceptional beer and it’s reshaping my views on gluten free brews.

Loved Alpine back in the day. Since it was hyper local the only way to get it was to sojourn 350 miles up to Alpine, CA from PHX. Curious to hear how you sourced this.

Spent the weekend getting the pool opened. My back is still complaining. I shouldn't have, but did, play golf today (my wife says I'd have to be on my deathbed to forego a round of golf).
Now it's time for a beer.

 

Warmest day of the year as we have crossed into the low 80's just south of Asheville. Da Boss and i went on a nice 7 mile/1400-foot climb hike out in the Pisgah NF and thus have earned my last BCBS in the fridge. We watched a bald eagle soaring above us for about 5 minutes, cool to see! Listening to some Foos on Sirius.
