Beer fridge is full of good stuff, but I decided on another Very Green because the first one was so good. Prepping mussels and frittes for dinner. I know what I should have, but I really don't like Belgian yeast. My way of leaving more for the rest of you.

 

Did Dave post that they were closing soon? Hopefully I hallucinated that news.

Right along here ba. Munchner lager, Paulaner. Not bad but nothing all that great either. Decent sweet malt, corny grain, although syrupy at times, with good notes of grain and grass,

Is that good or bad? I’m guessing bad-

I use to drink this one often.. but haven't gone back to it.. it's been over 6 months since I've last had it. Much prefer other German lager/pilsner offerings.. Bitburger, Jever, Von Trapp, etc.. Cheers!!

 

Looks like a lot of the regs are off to a fast start for the upcoming holiday weekend. I'm trying this new Nelson hopped beer from Tree House, Brewster Hut. Drinking really nice. First of many check ins this weekend!

Sipping Heady while contemplating the very real possibility we may move back to CA soon (!)

 

1) Falling Knife Freudenfreude (5.5%): A DDH Dortmunder lager from Minnesota with flavors of bright lemon
versus
2) Utepils Helles (5.1%): A German Helles Lager from Minnesota with flavors of smooth pale malt, honey, bread. Toasted and earthy.

Falling Knife vs. Utepils Battle. First is Falling Knife. Bright, floral, lemony. Next is Utepils. More restrained, malty and smooth. Utepils makes an excellent Helles and drinks further to style.
