    This is one of those that has a very short shelf life. So good when fresh - crisp with a perfect honey/caramel malt balance. Thus was canned end Jan 24. Sadly freshest I've seen around here. It still hasn't had the hops fade terribly than letting that sweet malt kill it but it's right on the edge. A shame I can never get this fresh. Has to be one of my favorite beers. Right in my sweetspot of 7.5% too.[​IMG]

    Moving on to a special one that has been sitting in my fridge since it was released. Deprecophobia from Bottle Logic and Voodoo. A double mash stout aged in bourbon barrels for 2 years. Nothing added. 13.61% ABV. Viscosity is through the roof. Fantastic beer. One of my highest rated (4.78) and I would keep it right there despite being 4 years old.

    I like that beer a lot too, but I can never find it fresh enough to purchase. I always look at the date when I see it, and it's usually already 4 months old, at that point it's not the same beer. At one time I could usually find it about a month old, but not anymore. Cheers!!

    ...thanks, Senior...nice 'reading' your history with the ribbon rack and command emblems...USAFE and USAF Comm Command emblems are familiar with my background...and I wouldn't be surprised if you (and I) could technically have a few more ribbons, but I always felt that the USAF gave out to many for inane reasons (e.g., I never understood the basic training ribbon -- I mean, come on, you where a uniform, of course you graduated from basic training - why do you (we) need a ribbon to say that...?!?...anyway, I missed the short time period where we could wear none / some / or all of your award and decoration ribbons...I preferred the some...

    ...my career spanned 84 - 04, retired as an E-7 (maybe would have made E-8 if I went for the USAFE IG job I had lined up, but Mrs. BeerGoot wouldn't have appreciated that separation :stuck_out_tongue:...anyway, back to ribbon racks, my cherished ones were my small arms marksmanship, Army of Occupation (West Berlin), and my first MSM (actually a DMSM) I earned as an E-6 when working for DCCA / DISA at Site-R, PA (my first joint duty assignment) and an Achievement Medal I earned at Prince Sultan AB (put in for a Commendation, but downgraded back 'home')...

    ...any way, my hats off to you for your service...sounds like some similarity between your career and mine...I have no regrets and certainly appreciated the retirement benefits...great memories, too...
