Does this mean you guys will finally stop bitching about Dallas only having it? I guess until we get Firestone Walker anyway...

Nah... we'll complain about other stuff.

It's human nature. DFW complains about stuff too.

I love this place. The owners are really awesome guys and really know their stuff. The Shell Station and Nobi public house are definitively huge perks of living in Clear Lake. The downside is the traffic.

Thanks to my wife, once again, I got some V@S from the Shell Station.

Upon your and others' recommendations, I made the drive down to this Shell Station. I was really impressed with this place. It was like a mini D&Q but they had stuff I hadn't seen before, besides the Ballast Point beers and Pontificator. I spoke with the owner and he convinced me to check out Nobi Public House. Rather than drive home in rush hour traffic I decided to stop in for one beer as it was just down the street. I ended up drinking:
    • Ballast Point Sculpin
    • Real Ale Scots Gone Wild
    • Real Ale BBA 15th Anniversary Russian Imperial Stout
    • Deschutes Black Butte XXIV
Those beers plus a half growler of the Real Ale BBA 15 plus bombers of Ballast Point Sculpin and Victory at Sea really made for a worthwhile trip.

That sounds like an awesome trip!

Side note... I drove by that Shell station about a million times before joining BA and finding out it was a beer mecca...

What did that Victory at Sea run you? I'm almost tempted to make the drive down there.

I don't remember, sorry. Give them a call and ask. You should probably call anyway to make sure they still have some before you drive down.

Don't know how much it is where you are getting it, but I grabbed it at Whole Foods in Austin for 9.99 I Believe.

Dang! If it wasn't an hour drive I'd pay it to check it out. Never had a ballast Point

Honestly, if it is selling for $9.99 at Spec's and for $11.99 at the Shell station I really don't mind paying the little extra to support the local guys. Go visit Nobi Pub or the Shell station and talk to the owners and you will see why I say this.

I would if it was closer. I live in the woodlands, so that Shell is like 60-75 minutes from my house. Whereas specs is only 30.

Yeah, I left that part out. If I lived in the Woodlands I wouldn't make that drive either just to support the local shop. But, as it is now, I live maybe 5-10 minutes from the Shell station.

I totally agree with this. Love to support local shops when I can.

That said, I'm not sure if I like BP enough to support them that much. lol

I'm sure I'll buy up some V@S, just not Sculpin. I would like to try Dorado (the DIPA).
