Good day BAs! Thanks @MadMadMike for opening the bar.
After a decent day yesterday, looks like maybe another one today.

Today's New Breakfast beer, however, is anything but decent:

    Here's the full review:

Sasquatch Smoothie from Trails to Ales. 16 fl oz can. Reviewed 11/06/25 (Review 3537). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Undated can. Purchased 07/06/25 from Franklin Beer, Franklin, PA. In reefer at distributor, stored at 37 degrees F at home. $ 3.50 (including tax)/ $ 0.219 per fl oz. Served at 40.0 degrees F in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The (current) final temperature is 53.4 degrees F.
    Appearance – 3
First pour – Sweet pink (SRM ?), clear.
Body – Flesh (SRM ?), opaque. Under direct light, same. When rear-lite, poppy red and translucent.
Head – Huge (Maximum SEVEN cm, aggressive center pour). Shell pink, high density with a rocky top, average retention, dropping to a 0.7 cm crown and a complete cap.
    Lacing – None
Aroma – 2 – Disgustingly strong perfume with pomegranate. No yeast, no alcohol, no malt.
Flavor – 2.5 – Cloying and perfumy. No malt, no hops. No alcohol (5.7 % ABV, according to the label). No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. No gastric warming.
Palate – 3 – Medium: syrupy: soft carbonation.
Style: Doesn't follow the loose style guidelines as condensed by BA.
Final impression and summation: 2.5 (After deducting 0.25 point for an undated can) Uncredited label artist. Not beer – not even a cream ale - some mildly alcoholic drink that should be served with an umbrella. Not a drain pour (yet) because I can’t believe how bad it is and I keep tasting it!

Our Neighbor's tree seemed to have shed a lot more helicopters and seeds than remembered in the past. As a result, we had said seedling growing in our gutters, so I spent an hour cleaning them out, showered, and pulled this beer. Hopefully our landscapers can remove similar new plantings within
    our new sod.

Experimented with this selection and started drinking fresh cold out of the refrigerator, vs. warming up as I do typically with these strong ABV styles. While it is still too malty vs. 18 months fresh, I am enjoying this much more than yesterday.

Welp! Back to my living room enjoying a cold 3 Monts. Ibiza airports customs have been pretty harsh on us to be totally honest. I tried to keep cool and managed to, never thought I’d look like Pablo Escobar or some plane hijacker. Whatever I just wanted to go home, along with missus… what’s done is done safely home now.

Next up is Monyo’s basic lager. Not too bad, and a nice quaff on this 80° day.

Car traffic aside, the patio at Monyo taproom at Kálvin tér in Budapest makes for good people watching!

    G'day all!

I'm sipping on another (redundant, isn't it?)
Yeti Imperial Stout. It's somewhat interesting that I enjoy Imperial Stouts more than Imperial IPAs. For the most part.

    Prost!

Half pour. This reminds me of an interaction I had with a taproom staff member in London last month. I asked him whether they do half pours, or only full pours. He looked at me like I was crazy and said "all pours are full pours, mate. The question is whether you want a large or a small'. I guess it makes sense. Maybe "half-pour" is a Yank term?

He was a cool guy though. We chatted and he even gave me a free brewery-branded glass at the end.

Here basically every taproom and bar has two size options — small and large, either 200/400mL or 300/500mL as your choices. Here it’s 200/400 so I got the 200.

In Hungary you order by the deciliter for some reason, so that was “két deci” - 2 deciliters. But my next two beers were négy deci - 4 whole deciliters! (400mL or about 14oz in Freedom Units).

Of course here in Europe all the glasses have lines indicating the pour amount, with room for head. The 400mL line of this beer is probably an ounce or two more than you get in a cheater shaker pint at the sports bar :joy:

Last beer here at Monyo is their DDH (single) hazy, with Dr. Rudi and Rakau hops. Dr. Rudi is a new one on me!

Keen observers will notice I went with “négy deci” on this one
