I posted a photo above just for you. Didn't even use acronyms.

Both were at my Woodman's in WI yesterday so I'm guessing anyone in HA's distro will see it. Love the west coast one. Nice old school IBUs and clean crispiness. So glad to see IPAs like this are back in vogue.

Bought a 4pk of Akari Shogun recently. Been years since I had that brew and it was good. Dry, hoppy with some nice citrus at the end. Prefer the old can art to the new one though.

Well, fuck me. NAVAJA is back... but taproom only. No Distro. *shakes fist*

    I “
I “liked” this, but I don’t actually like the policy. Distro would make my life easier.

This shit makes me insane, although I suppose at a certain point it makes sense for them to drive traffic to their brewpub.

Someone abuse me like a Zaddy - how is Navaja this year? Blissful? Arrogant? Does it slap you?

    *sigh* :slight_frown:

Yeah, no, I get it (no profit in distro)... just bugs me when I taste a 9+% beer, and I always think.... "Yeah, meh, it's no Navaja..."
    Cheers...

We’re gonna need our candy cap mushroom experts to start weighing in….

they taste so much like maple syrup.

HA also did a version of the IPA collab with the mushrooms on draft only.

The first sip of both the mushroom beers is so striking, but it mellows out as you keep drinking.

Sunken Opal is a hitter. The typical hazy profile is on display, with the signature Half Acre IPA hop profile coming along for the ride. Man when they lock in on an IPA release they rarely miss.

Why does Rev get all the love on this forum when we all know HA is where it’s at

I find Half Acre's stouts to be mostly sludgy, sweet, undrinkable messes. Revolution tends to have a much lighter touch, even when packing in sweet ingredients.

However, Revolution's IPA's are, to me, way worse than Half Acre's. I tend to think all Half Acre hoppy beers taste pretty much the same, and are too hop-forward for me, but I don't think anyone's arguing that Revolution is better in the hop game.

They are obviously both tops, but everyone is split on what they want. I think Rev’s BA beers are more drinkable, because they aren’t as thick, but I enjoy HAs more, because I think they taste better and are genuinely better beers. That said, I can’t drink the thicker beers everyday. I want and need balance. I assume most people are split and straddling this fence, with half leaning one way and the other half the other.

Rev for sure gets more love based on price alone, though. That isn’t a wierd knock, it is truth. Goose would get a lot more love if their prices were better. Rev loves their fans and their fans love them for it. Lots of praise to go around.

I am willing to give Rev the advantage on Barrel Aged Stouts but Benthic is as good as any of their many varieties. The IPAs are not close on the Rev side so overall it has to be HA mayne!

Big Rev fan here, and while Deth's Tar has had a couple of good years of Deth (2021 being my favorite), I think Half Acre trump them on stouts. I think Rev should swap Deth for Thundertaker, that recipe is amazing and just beats the hell out of your average Deth.

Deth Vanillas and Cherries and Coconuts leave a lot to be desired (Cafe is awesome), so HA got a leg up there. Rev does barleywines like no other tho, and well, Rev's price point is also just too good.

By volume I would still say Rev has the better barleywine program but triple barrel wilderness of history was on par with VSOJ. And I fucking love VSOJ

One person gets the credit- Beercruncher. Former Rev employee and active poster would provide updates, solicit feedback, and was responsive to beer fans ideas on this forums. If Half Acre had a similar social media interaction with customers for a similar duration, it might be different. Half Acre isn’t tying customers up with season ticket packages like Rev.
