I would e-mail Tree House, they are pretty responsive and can get you all the details straight from the source.

This batch of Alter Ego is amazing. Worth snagging if anyone is stocking up for the weekend

Tasted delicious tonight. Am I right that this batch is out of the norm in that it’s a peel on label and not a true can? (Doesn’t affect the flavor.. Ha!)

That's good to hear. I grabbed Alter Ego and 10th Anniversary Alter Ego on Sunday. Haven't cracked one yet. Planning to tonight. Will report back.

Grabbed a Two Pack of Habanero Haze for the heck of it. Saving for a bottle share. Anybody try it yet?

Magic Trail is fucking great, definitely add this to the list of TH lagers that hold their own against the Notch & Suarez offerings. Actually tastes a good bit like HF Mary.

Fucking incredible beer. Opened one earlier. What a god damn, crystal clear, absolutely perfect beer. Speechless after that one from TH. Jesus Christ did that extra time pay off! Felt weird posting exactly what you did, given people may write it off.

Sorry my auto correct screwed up the last sentence.

    “And also adding the tidbit…”

No idea how that one went wrong ha

I thought 10th anny Alter Ego was just okay.

Also thought it was strange that Juice Machine has sticker labels cans.

Agreed that magic trail is amazing.

King Fern tasting delicious at one month old.

Saratoga location. There's a sign right next to the bocce ball courts asking to keep children of the court because it's a regulation court yada yada yada.

Two couples had their 4 young kids parked right on the courts. The parents must have dumped a playpen worth of toys right on the courts as well. People blow my mind! Or maybe I'm old and crusty (42).

Nate should open up a daycare center at every location. Charge something like $20 per kid per hour. Call it Nnnaptimeee or something.

Curiosity Eighteen is an interesting one. I had a growler of this back in 2015 and it seems about the same (based only from my review).

Not sure if it's one of the Bright variations but it has that same vibe. Definitely old-school Tree House but maybe not in the way you're expecting. Very malty and sweet, in a good way.

Great idea in theory. In practice it would jump the drunk driving with kids in the car a significant percentage. BUZZ KILLLLLLL

The number of options are kind of nauseating. Don’t get me wrong, this is a good problem to have, but it would be nice if they offered a “tool” to help you narrow down what you liked. Like, if I hate pine, it would be great to be able to filter out beers that are fairly pine-y. I know they make 4929592 different beers now, but it doesn’t seem like this would be hard, and would be pretty useful, especially if you could put in things like ABV ranges, relative “juicyness” levels, relative bitterness, etc.

This is all to say, I just saw that the Saratoga springs location is a thing. That’s cool. Only 3h from where I am working. Will have to make the trip at some point, although likely just for pickup. A bit of a hard decision to go now or sometime in the next month that I am here.

I never took the time to respond last year after several people gave me a lot of help. It was very appreciated, and I ended up with a lot of good beers that I liked very much, especially the lagers. Love how they use pecharine.

People on here who post that something is amazing, or downright sucks, is a huge help. It feels like all their IPAs are rated between 4.2 and 4.5 on Untappd so it’s hard to gauge what is actually good. Especially with dozens of new ones and variants to sort through.

That said, I usually stick to half lagers and half core/variants when ordering. I’m not going to be disappointed with haze, very green, king Julius, etc.!

I know this won't be a huge help, and you probably already know all of this, but they have almost no 'piney' beers. The few that they do have will have it in the description or even the name (Spruce, Sap). The Double IPAs will generally all be extremely juicy. They brew very few old school style NEIPAs (Bright) and just as many west coast (Westy). There has been a shift in recent years where the new IPAs do have a nice bitterness, which was almost never the case with the core offerings. The New Zealand hopped ones (there are many) will almost never have bitterness in my experience, but the flavor profile is definitely different than the American hops and are not for everyone. Grab any stout with maple syrup in it. No one does it better, and I've had a LOT. Right now might be a good time to go since the July 4/anniversary rush is over and people likely stocked up big before. Summer will be busy no matter what, though.

    Exactly this.

Also, untappt is pointless (Sorry BA!). Bigfoot is rated 3.8 or something on there, while Emporer Julius is probably like a 4.7 and was undrinkable for me

They only have one beer at a 4.7 currently in production. Emperor Julius is a 4.56.

On Beeradvocate their highest rated beers are legacy beers and variants like King Julius, Very Haze....etc.

Top 10 on this site for New England IPAs are all Tree House except Abner from Hill.

In order, King Julius, King JJJuliusss (their second highest rated active beer on Untappd as well), Very Hazy (their number one rated on Untappd, but just at Woodstock), Very Green, Juice Machine, Julius, Very GGGreennn, Jjjuliusss, and Doubleganger.

Personally some of those aren't any better than some of the better New England IPAs I can get elsewhere. They were the first to truly nail the style and people horribly inflated their ratings 10ish years ago.

For example if I look at the most recently checked in beer from them, it's Very Jubilee with a 4.36 rating and over 4,000 check-ins. While I haven't had that beer, I bet if it came out in 2014 it would be at least a 4.5.

That's just a long way of echoing what's been said. There's a multitude of Tree House veterans in this thread who do a great job of sampling what's new and can give you a good idea of what's good from then and now.
