My roommate just did a trade, and one of the beers is RAR Chesapeake Chowder. The hops used are listed as either Saturated or Freestyle. What the bloody hell do they mean by these terms?
Maybe? The can is in recycling now, but it had hops listed as Freestyle XXX, and Freestyle YYY. So, it's possible that that's the thing. Thanks much buddy.
Here is the hop bill for that beer: “Hopped with Citra, Freestyle Motueka & Freestyle SubZero Hop Kief.” Freestyle Hops is a New Zealand based hop producer. https://www.freestylehops.com/
Saturated is just the "series" they're making, heavily hopped. They're supposed to be more opaque, heavier mouth feel, almost "green" in profile. Balance etc isn't the plan. Think NEIPA version of green flash palate wrecker.
