They have actually done 3 different vintages to date, all less than 100 bottles released each time. B1 was aged in apple brandy barrels and had banana, vanilla and almond, B2 was Buffalo Trace barrels, banana, double barrel maple syrup and almonds, and the latest, B3, was Four Roses barrels, double banana, almonds and maple syrup. They hit that banana bread flavor spot on. Too sweet for my taste but they absolutely nailed what they were going for. I have two bottles of B3 in my cellar, curious if the sweetness has mellowed out at all.

It blows my mind just how many bottles of MJK there are/were. Expert level false scarcity. On the surface it would seem that this is some insane bottle to try, and I guess it is if you don't live in St. Louis, but the fact that it has survived so long on-site is really something.

Finally it seemed like they had more than enough for members when they dropped it, that was the biggest gut punch for me, getting owk but not getting mjk

As bad as the amburana barrels were on DGC, I thought they worked incredibly well in MJK. Comparing to b1 is always tough but b2 was a really special beer, in my opinion.

    Cheers!

I agree with this, insofar as I hated DGC, but MJK B2 was really good for me. Now, I never had B1, so I can't compare it to that. I definitely think B2 fell short of 10 Yr Barleywine, which is likely a Top 3 beer for me all time. I wish I had just bought every bottle I could have of that beer.

I figured, but agree that top notch beers are worth it.

What are the odds Continuance will still be available for sale when I'm in town next Friday? If needed, can I pre-order online Monday and then pickup Friday?

    Cheers!
