    Yards Philly Pale Ale…

It is always a pleasure to drink this beer and it is the one hoppy beer I still consistently buy…it just celebrated its 30th anniversary this year, I would say it fits the classic criteria.

Hope you’ve been able to try this beer, it’s a special one.

I laughed so hard I nearly spilled my beer at your salsa reference. I remember those commercials. Nicely played.

That Yards Philadelphia Pale Ale looks interesting and certainly is a classic. Too bad I've never seen it in my home state.

I have had Deschutes Mirror Pond once and it was really good, but I don't usually see that one either.

For me the first notable Britishy craft Pale Ale was Pyramid Pale brewed in Kalama
(Sierra Nevada didn't quite do it for me)
long gap, then Blue Point ESB (very good)
now Montauk Driftwood (just OK, but only available about 6 mo. per year)

Always thought it had a better hop impact than their IPA, at least back when I lived in Philly and could get it fresh.

My first real pale ale was from Riverside Brewing, Ca. early 90's it was British in style but very good not over hoppy this all has changed. Those guys brewed some classic's.

RIP Long Trail Pale Ale. One of my first craft beers/pale ales. Dont remember when it went away but its probably been at least 10 years now.

Seeing this image gives me all the feels, and very good call on Daisy Cutter too. That one was around for a little here probably 10 years back but it’s been long gone for a while now.

I had this on a business trip in Minneapolis and fell in love with it. I don't like that I cant get it anywhere close to NJ.

    SNPA will have to do.

Both Summit EPA and SNPA played a part in my decision to move from Boston to MPLS.
Behold the power of beer!! :beers:

That was a good one! This thread has me lamenting all the pale ales gone from shelves.
Another one I used to love was Smuttynose Shoals Pale Ale.

Isn't Edward looking a lot more New England IPA-ish these days?

I use to enjoy Dale's Pale ale a lot, but sadly distribution in my area has diminished lately. Although it always seem to me to drink more like an ipa, it is a classic.

    Yes.

    who gets to define reality?

The reality is that Sierra Nevada decided to enter SNPA into the ESB category.

    Cheers!
