That’s a beautiful area that I have to explore more. My son and I had a fishing trip on the English river a little north of there and are looking to get back soon.

I was able to pick up a couple of those beers to drink at the lodge, I thought they were pretty good.

Left Hand Colorful Colorado IPA, pretty darn good!

 

Having a Little Willow Beachcomber after a long day ..

 

1) Angry Chair Tampa Native (8.0% no canning date): A NEIPA from Florida with DDH Citra for flavors of orange, pineapple, citrus flower, pineapple, and green melon.
versus
2) Toppling Goliath DDH King Sue (7.8% canned 6/16/25): A NEIPA from Iowa with DDH Citra for flavors of orange citrus zest, flower, pineapple and mango skin. Bright and clean. (Correctly matched the two blind)

DDH Citra Hop Battle, Angry Chair vs. Toppling Goliath. First is Angry Chair Tampa Native. Bright orange citrus, pineapple, and sweet mango notes as well.
Next is Toppling Goliath DDH The King. World-Class and fresh out of the gate. Bright citrus flower and intense orange and tangerine. Amazing IPA, but 3 weeks out and needs a couple more to settle into some of the flavors.
Not sure how old this Angry Chair IPA is but have been incredibly impressed with this on all of the tries I've had from it. Incredibly complex and robust Citra flavors. With only an 82 "Good" rating on BeerAdvocate, I'd easily give it an Oustanding and 90+. Today it is even drinking better than The King.

Oliphant Brewing- Snail Pale

I’ve never seen their beer around here before, but I always look for a good pale ale. This one fits the bill nicely- lower bitterness, good aroma and fantastic mouthfeel. I’d pick it up again.

Schilling Malý 8. A 3.1% Czech-Style Session Pilsner. Superbly done for the abv. Very refreshing on a hot day, but doesn’t feel watery.

The can was from a quarterly beer club/class run by the great DC beer bar Churchkey. This quarter: Czech lagers. Some great US breweries in the box, and am especially excited to try the new-to-me beers from the Czech Republic.

 

My general outlook towards most people, excluding BAs of course.
