All the time. I've walked into one store thinking that they might have something new, saying goodbye without buying something, and heading to a shop where I know I'll grab something. I have no problem leaving a shop without buying something. I thank them and tell them I'll see them soon.

I tend to only buy mixed singles, bombers and 750's. Rarely do I buy six packs. If only for parties I am attending to have my own beer.

    Have about 4-5 stores/shops I check out.

    Cheers!

I think I've finally gotten over the phase where I need to drink every seasonal or one off beer that comes out so I only buy 6 or 12 packs of the beers I like with the occasional bomber or 4 pack from Founders, Bell's or GI.

There is no rhyme or reason to the way I buy beer. I DO spend too much, however.

I only buy 8 packs -- Sincerely, Guinness Draught drinkers. In all seriousness, I buy six packs and rarely 4 packs if I find something I like. Ive been buying a lot more singles and bombers lately too, but it pains me to see how much more it costs.

Soon in 12 packs of fresh Stone IPA. Hope they sell it for around 17 bucks. I will buy one a week.

Mostly sixers, I can get a six pack of any year round deschutes brew in the Seattle area for about $8 which, in my opinion is an incredible deal, considering the quality of their beers. Lately I find myself buying lots of bombers, even though I don't really like to because most of the bombers I get cost as much as most of the six packs I buy....but those bombers usually contain some awesome beer, so I guess I'll get over it.

For a while I've been buying mostly bombers and 750s I'm gonna get back into 4s and 6s to save money.

4/6/12 and the occasional big bottle normally something reasonable from BBC, Lagunitas or Bear Republic.

This happens to me pretty much everytime I make a beer run...I have no reasonable explanation why I do it. Passed on a case of Roch 10 today at one Specs location only to buy it at a different location. ???......

d.) all of the above... Whatever kind a looks good at the time ~ weather a 6er of Lagunitas Imperial Red or Rocky's Revenge or something... a 4pack of Green Flash... or a bomber to sip or to cellar... That could be why the space in my cellar is shrinking as the boxes of beer have been growing...

I just go to my favorite beer stores and look for beers I have not tried. Sometimes I get in the mood for a style so I might buy a 6 pack of mixed winter ales, for example.

My two main local beer stores give discounts for buying 6 so I suppose if I use any method, I buy 6 to get the 10% discounts.

I mix it up a bit, you guys are right though, bombers and 750's are horrible values. I've been looking for 4 packs of St Berbardus 12 everywhere and can't find it

The place I usually go to in Pittsburgh gives you 15% off of filled sixers so usually I go every couple weeks to grab one to restock. The Giant Eagle Market Districts are a good source of well-priced bombers so I always grab one each week when I go grocery shopping. Beer in PA is so pricey and my money is becoming a little tighter thanks to my MBA loans so now my beer buying is going to be me going to Ohio once every six weeks or so and buying an assorted case a couple bombers of whatever looks appealing for the season. And I'm still relatively new to craft so basically I just buy all stuff I've never had before, unless it's a seasonal I really like and want to get more of, like Oberon.

Mostly 6 packs, the occasionally 12 pack and a few 4 packs a year. On special occasions(bday/holiday) a Bomber or single of something special. I also supplement in 30s of miller light to go cheap/light and pregame before I go out to clubs. I never buy too much beer at once. I like to keep 3/4 beers on hand.

I also have about 3/4 stores in my rotation.

I buy my staple IPA's and pales in 6's or 12's when I run out. I also try as many new big beers as I can but I do skip over the Bomber section for the most part, not Lagunitas because they actually know how to price bombers unlike pretty much all other breweries.... Besides that if I find a IPA or Pale I have not had really fresh I will usually pick up a single if I can but if it is from a brewery that I have liked I will just go ahead and grab a six.

To make a long story short I buy my beer with money.

Surprisingly I'm pretty much just like you OP. I usually do this on Thursday or Friday each week. I usually go to my one favorite bottle shop that lets you build a mixed 6-er, but once every few weeks I stop by the other couple stores I like to see what sales they have or occassional have different beer selections for variety.

No case buyers? living in Pittsburgh thats by far the best value for me. my local distributor has a decent sale at all times. currently Victory for like 26 a case. there is a craft bar by me that allows you to do mix and match 6 packs for 10-12 bucks.
