The only Cape brewery that you'll see regularly on tap that's worth drinking is Devils Purse. Their kolsch is everywhere and quite good, especially on a hot day. Their Stonehorse IPA is also enjoyable for a hazy style.
All I know is that Mayflower Porter is brewed very close to the Cape, so folks should keep an eye out. It's a fantastic beer that is often overlooked, in my opinion.
I think I had a Narragansett and a Starting Line. That was about it. Stuck mostly to wine and cocktails.
I haven't had a Starting Line beer in YEARS. The citra version of their flagship was pretty good when I last had it.
I was down the Cape last weekend. Of course stopped at Treehouse on the way down to stock up. I didn't get to Cape Cod Beer, due to timing and when they were open. They've been a go-to of mine since they were Hyport Brewing Co. Really solid beers - not so much for hopheads, but they have some really good ones otherwise. I did stop in to Barnstable Brewing, in Hyannis, just grabbed a couple packs to go. Pretty good brews, and a really nice taproom. Then the next day went over to Naukabout in Mashpee. Not bad beers at all, a great outdoor space they do live music and stuff, plus they had a lunch deal with a burger or pizza for $5. The pizza wasn't bad at all - pub style, absolutely no complaints on it, but the burger was amazing, especially for $5. I'd pay $12 for that burger at any restaurant, no question.
I had never had any of their beers though I had heard of them a long time ago. Had something with Mosaic that was solid.
I thought I read here that Mayflower had closed. Are they still around? (They stopped distributing to CT years ago, or at least I never see them anymore, so I'm not immediately affected)
I think they were on the ropes for a minute or two, but are now ok. I never buy any of their other beers. But man, I love their porter.
A few of their beers were available on tap and in cans at Hog Island last week, which makes sense given the acquisition earlier in the year. Unfortunately, the Porter was not one of them this time around.
