Loving the half liter cans of this too

The half liter cans of Paulaner Fest are pretty good, too -- and economical. Grabbed a couple at $8 per.

And yeah, I finally broke down and popped one 'cause I felt I was missing out.

My neighbor and I had a small Octoberfest beer tasting (drinking really) last night.

Toppling Goliath - Initially pretty good, but the sweetness wore thin by a 1/2 a can
Sierra Nevada - Rated first and second place by the 2 of us
Alesmith - Rated #1 by me, but too "hoppy" by my friend (who does not like IPAs or hoppy beers, or...)
Energren - Last place. Too watery/bland

    YMMV!

Whoa! I was not expecting that given the amount of praise that Energren gets on BA.

But as you astutely mentioned: "YMMV".

    Cheers!

One of my favorite readily available pumpkin brews, and only $10.99 a six - win win!

September is only a little over a week away!

    Cheers!

I did not expect it either! It is what it is however...

A new to me pumpkin (not sure if this Jackie'Os brew has been packaged much before) - which is quite tasty! Feels like autumn!

With the cooler temps that we've been having lately, I've definitely been in the mood. Going to kick off the season and see what I can find for solid Oktoberfest's and Pumpkin Ales!

Haunted House only uses their house yeast (but there's always the possibility that they tone down it's influence in production). I assume the name is a pun in that they view it as a "blackening" of their house beer in spirit. "Doomed by a love of pitch-black Porters and our Allagash House Beer, we summoned the recipe for Haunted House."

Over-pitched and fermented cool I suppose?

I had to go out of my way to find this one this year; a seasonal that may get forgotten, or overlooked in a sea of Oktoberfest lagers and pumpkin beers…here’s your reminder.

    Harpoon - Flannel Friday

Floral, lightly sappy; toasty on the finish, just malty enough, smooth and oh so clean; moderately bitter, hops linger nicely on the tongue; such a lovely beer.

I had Haunted House in the past week. Didnt taste at all like a porter to me and tasted more like a "black IPA" but then again what do I know.

Yeah I get this one every year. Interesting how its stuck around for as along as it has when so many seasonal beers come and go.

I hope it never leaves, we gotta keep buying it. I think it is you who is a big Long Trail of old fan too, their Fall Survival Pack looks awesome this year and I will buy as soon as I see it.

    3 Long Trail Ales
3 Riversides - Finally get to try without committing to the 15 pack format
    3 Harvest Ales
3 Pumpkin Ales - Variety Exclusive

For those keeping track, a variety pack with ZERO IPAs...

Yeah I thinks its great there are no IPAs in there but Im probably not going to buy it just to get 3 pumpkin beers. The Riverside Lager was also in the summer variety pack btw. I like Harvest Ale a lot and buy it every year in 6 packs. So yeah its not a bad variety pack but Im probably not going to purchase it just to get the 3 exclusive pumpkin beers.

On pumpkin beer (gasp and swoon). Picked up a 4 pack of Lone Pine Pumpkin Party this past week. I've skipped it in the past because of the low ABV (4.5ish). However, I like it... glad I picked it up.

Don't know if it's a *Fall* beer per se, but I am still waiting for Yuengling to come to my hometown

Apparently it opened up shop with a brewery in the state that I live in about a month ago, but still have yet to see it anywhere nearby (Untappd says I'd have to travel out 50+ miles just to get it lol)

It's not a fall beer, but it has fallen in Michigan. A place near me has it on tap. I think kegs have arrived before any bottles/cans. Check out a good bar near you, or find one that posts its beer list online to save some gas.

I don't consider summer over until GLBC Nosferatu hits shelves. Sadly, it seems it will be hitting shelves here soon as they announced its release on social media this past week. Will enjoy it while ruing summer's end.

Picked up a sixer today. Now that I'm looking for it, I can pick up on the Allagash yeast, but you have to be able to taste past the roast and the hops.
