It makes sense that they would brew it as a DIPA and dilute the alcohol with fruit puree to get down to 6.8% but the label is really confusing, I agree.

$8 for 12oz 2-year barrel aged barleywine (on par with anything Revolution puts out) is a deal.

Hopefully it lasts forever like the other ones do, but at this price, I'm not sure

Yeah absolutely get Lights Out if you are going to TH soon. It's damn near perfect.

Looks like TH is spread a tad thin
We are going back to Saratoga in 3 weeks: no green, Julius just came back
Not a huge selection, and no location has the Transfusion cocktail that my wife loves.
Happy wife makes for continued visits
    Thoughts?

Drinking a Eureka w/ Citra picked up from Tree House Tewksbury (8/27 canning) and feel like something has changed with this beer and not for the better? Something is almost metallic about it with a distinct lack of flavor?

The abv has also decreased from 4.2 to 4.1 -- it has been 4.2 forever iirc, so something has definitely changed here.

Anyone else try it and reactions?

I had the Eureka w/Motueka from the Woodstock location. Very excited to try due to my good experience with Woodstock beers thus far. Had on draft and was extremely disappointed with the lack of flavor. Very reminiscent of a hop seltzer.

I think they've been using so many hops in the IPA/IIPAs lately, that when you try something like Eureka, it falls flat

Yeah, at least at the location near me they have like 1/4 the amount of to go beers as usual. That said, it’s still more than almost any other brewery ever has. Not sure why - maybe has to do with the new Saratoga location selling a lot more?

Any lagers tasting particularly good right now? Heading to Saratoga tomorrow. I prefer Whisper over Rustle so planning to get that one for sure.

    Probably the right answer.

I had a can and it tastes just like Eureka to me, but it’s never been a "flavorful" beer for me either.

Maybe a beer that will get better after a few weeks?

Eureka is impressive for what it is but it will never stand up unless it's the first beer you have that day

Does the Saratoga location usually ID customers?

I'm in town for 2 days and like a dope I left my wallet home.

Hmm, still shows 4.2% on the web site. You’re saying the cans you have state 4.1%?

They probably do. I'd call ahead of time to explain the situation. If not you're gonna need a mule lol.

Yeah they say 4.1% but they aren't the "proper" cans, just a wrap around label.

If you are picking up an order they might. If you are ordering pours and are obviously over the legal age they will not ID you.
