Speaking of which, I believe this is an October release typically so should be forthcoming. Not sure if this beer sees local distro anymore, however.

Before Land Shook seems to be being distributed this year. Didn’t see Half Acre post anything about it but my local spot (Open Bottle) looks to have gotten cans in this afternoon.

 

Very excited for October at Half Acre to hit my inbox tomorrow.

BAZALT WILDERNESS OF HISTORY
Double Barrel Barleywine Aged in Bourbon Barrels & Finished in Tokaji Wine Barrels
16.4% ABV

This richly layered barleywine is the result of a two-stage barrel-aging process. First, it spent time in American bourbon barrels, soaking up notes of vanilla, caramel, and charred oak. Then, it was transferred into Tokaji wine barrels After aging in bourbon barrels, this barleywine was finished in Tokaji wine casks—Hungarian oak barrels that once held the famed sweet wine made from botrytized grapes. These rare barrels lend notes of honey, dried fruit, and gentle spice, adding elegance and complexity to the final beer.

JET HARVEST
Fresh Hop IPA
7% ABV

We recently received fresh hops from the Yakima Valley, harvested within 24 hours of them hitting our kettle. Thanks to the efforts of Bale Breaker, Loftus Ranches, Yakima Chief, and Alaska Airlines, these cold, wet hops were flown directly to us, allowing us to use them at peak freshness. This kind of rapid transport is uncommon and logistically complex, but it gave us the chance to create something truly special. The result: an IPA we’re calling Jet Harvest.

I just saw this at Binnys! I think this is probably the 2024 version just getting distro'd to make space for the 2025 releases and Benthic. Has anyone tried this? How's the sweetness level on it? Like cloying or can a 12oz can be finished without problems?

Can you confirm this for sure? They haven't announced it on Instagram or any of the other channels (which is atypical) and it has 2 check-ins on Untappd... The can art does look a little different.

I wonder how much they make of these because they’re always insta-sellouts.

 

Scene report: this year's batch of Orin is stellar. Almost tastes like a port wine. Simply the best beer they make (to my stunted palate, at least).

 

Half Acre has some old glasses on sale for a $1 each. Nothing super fancy or unique, but I like my new LagerTown mug.
