picked a few of these up and really enjoyed the first one, the second one wasn't as great as i remembered the first being, and the third one ranked right up there with PBR. there was about a month between number 1 and 2, and three was about two weeks later. anyone else experience this falling off?

Just had my first experience with this beer. Very unique! I do like it though.

I think it starts off very well, but there's not much endurance with it. Not that it gets bad. Rather, it doesn't really change as it warms. Still a good beer imho

UPDATE: had a fourth bottle the other day, and it tasted just like the first one. :astonished:
with odell's history of flat brews and infected ones i'm starting to wonder about this one.

I loved it. Very easy to make a mess out of that many ingredients (see Rainbow, Trinity Double), but in this I didn't even care about them, because i was too busy enjoying the beer. I bet I'll stick to drafts rather than bottles, which is good news because it's $6 PER EFFING PINT at Lucky Pie downtown. That one's free.

By the way, I'm emphasizing because it's a good thing, not bad, just to pre-empt the post monkeys. Go getcha some.

Drinking one right now from a bottle, and it is a solid beer!

After my experience with Hiveranno and Bourbon Barrel Stout I am forced to pass on Odell 750's, too risky.

I've only had this on tap and thought it was unique and quite good. I was a little worried it was going to be a mess. Not sure I
I would buy a bottle. Too risky.

If it's infected the brewery will take care of you! I've had some great bottles of Friek, Avant Peche, Sabotuer and now Footprint! Did have issues with infected BBS, but they refunded my money and sent me a tshirt and some stickers! I'll support this great brewery and take a chance especially when they stand by their products.

I know that they have been working on this as well. They now have a centrifuge that should help. And with the carbonation issue, they primed this beer with champagne yeast. I dont blame you for being hesitant but if you get enough people who are starting to enjoy Odells again, might be worth a chance to give them another opportunity.

I've been lucky not have had anything infected from them, although the first India Barleywine bottle I bought had whole hop leaves floating in it. Their brewery rep hand delivered me 2 bottles for the trouble, though.

I thought Footprint was okay. The story of how it came to be was better than the beer itself, but there was certainly nothing wrong with it.

Friek was a great beer...can't speak to infection issues in their other 750mL offerings...

Off topic from original thread...but went to Total Bev in Westminster and they said they don't get this until next week. Then went to Argonaut on my way home and they didn't have it either. Is the release delayed a week?

They will do the 'brewery' release today. Then usually starts hitting local shelves on Monday or thereafter. So probably down that way the end of next week I would guess.
