Drekker/Fidens collab Bottom Feeder Freddy The Fishman DNEIPA, 8.5% ABV. Pours hazy golden, with a four-finger off-white head that left lots of lacing. Aroma is citrus and melon. Taste is citrus and bitter hops, faintly sweet. Dry mouthfeel, overall very good.

Today is another gorgeous autumn day, out here in McGregor, and both of my lady Pamela's wonderful cats were curious about the three new beers that I'd be checking out today...

Today, my first brew is my seventh exemplar from Refined Fool Brewing Co. of Sarnia, Ontario--their Pouch Envy IPA--Galaxy hops rendition. It's shown, poured, bookending an article on one of my very favourite war movies from the 60's--The Battle of Algiers (Gillo Pontecorvo, 1966). Completely unforgettable!...



Later today, it'll be my second beer from Royal Unibrew of Fakse, Denmark--their 5% Faxe Premium Quality Lager...and finally, my seventh of Toronto, Ontario's Slake Brewing's handiworks--their 4.6% Super Sunset Pale Ale...

All three beers are also shown bookending an article on one of my favourite Westerns from the 60's--Sam Peckinpah's Ride the High Country, for no particular reason except that it's a remarkable film...



Tomorrow: Three new beers to explore, from the following breweries:
--Rouge River Brewing Company (Markham, Ontario; my eighth of their handiworks);
--Sleeman Breweries Ltd. (Guelph, Ontario; my third); and
--Something in the Water Brewing Co. (Toronto, Ontario; my third)...

I was moderately nonplussed that ALL of my favourite sports teams lost over the holiday weekend--the Blue Jays, Maple Leafs, Lions, Bills and Ravens--but that's ok. Just dust yourself off and get back onto the horse, boys. It's a new day rising (to quote the remarkable Husker Du), today, indeed...
